So they want 50L on average for organizing a futures level event.

20% of the money goes into organization and 80% goes into their pockets?

Delhi Challenger on hold due to lack of dedication & funds. AITA refusing to adhere to the Sports Code seems to be hurting them real bad with no assistance from MYAS

I guess they did adher to sports code by appointing a new president.

In any case I think organising futures and challengers would be a loss making proposition across the world. Not many are willing to pay to watch these events live or on TV. So, where will they get sponsorship from ? Govt aid is very much needed to organise these events. Without that it is difficult.

Wanted to share my interesting experience with AITA in terms of getting some information. Basically I requested for a certified copy of the AITA constitution, Financial accounts, Detail of the executive meetings + meeting notes, List of office bearers and their responsibilities. What I got in return was what AITA was comfortable in sharing - list of AITA affiliates, office bearers (not a mention of their responsibilities), list of meetings (no meeting notes or decision taken) and yes not a mention of Financial account details nor the copy of the AITA constitution - this is sad  .

Request for info: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6p0P ... UZHSVI4MlU
Info received: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6p0P ... 3A2WkJ3YXc

I never experienced this with other organizations before, curious if any of you had similar experience. I am still interested in that information but logistically difficult for me to file petitions and so on. Will take the paid services of friends from the NGO / RTI Activist group to take this forward.

Do any of you have success with getting information from AITA?

AITA gets back the government recognition , which means more additional Govt Funding will follow.

However little seems to change on the functioning as even after an interim Bureaucrat was appointed , the Honorary President still called the shots and now that the interim President has her term extended till 2020 , it seems nothing will change and the Honorary President will still be the Final authority.

Following teams are selected for Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games to be staged in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, from September 17 to 27.

Men - Vishnu Vardhan, Sumit Nagal, Sidharth Rawat and Vijay Sundar Prashanth

Women - Ankita Raina, Riya Bhatia, Dhruthi Venugopal and Prarthana Thombare.

From each country, two players can compete in singles and field one doubles team each in the men’s and women’s section, apart from one mixed doubles team.

The Indian tennis team will have former National champion Ashutosh Singh as the captain and coach.

It looks like tennis (Indors) is first time included in these games. Not sure how the other teams will be stacked up and how strong the competition will be. But, we seem to have selected near to our best team (barring those going for davis cup).

But, crucial for likes of Sumit who will miss couple of weeks from pro tour.

The AITA has renamed their (quite teribble...) Facebook account to TFI - any idea what is going on there?

Got to spend the money somewhere. A needless rebranding sounds a great idea during the committee meetings. Makes them look like they are doing something.

AILTA became AITA became TFI . .. becomes TI?
If only they'd eliminate the useless old windbags on the federation as quickly as they got rid of letters in their acronym tennis would be better off in India.

AITA has made a U-turn within a few days of naming the new selection committee and has again made changes -

AITA brings back Zeeshan Ali in selection committee, removes Vishal Uppal

Finally some AITA seems to be doing something for junior tennis players in India-

AITA Trust Scholarship Program to fully support 16 young Indian tennis players

Hope something good comes out of this because otherwise our junior talent pool seems to be dead in the last 2-3 years.
