The unfortunate part is that there is not enough media coverage. Challenger tournaments should be covered properly at least. The only newspaper that covers tennis like the way it deserves to be covered is "The Hindu", where Kamesh Srinivasan Sir has been doing a great job!

Great job by Jeevan and Rungkat to make the final in Kobe in a pretty strong field.
This has taken him to a new career high of 107 (up from his current and career high rank of112).

Jeevan and his partner get a walkover in the QF.

At $50K+H Toyota Challenger,Japan

[QF] (3) NEDUNCHEZHIYAN, Jeevan (IND) / RUNGKAT, Christopher (INA) d. LOKOLI, Laurent (FRA) / SAVILLE, Luke (AUS) walkover

Next,

[SF] (3) NEDUNCHEZHIYAN, Jeevan (IND) / RUNGKAT, Christopher (INA) vs. (2) RATIWATANA, Sonchat (THA) / YI, Chu-Huan (TPE)

Jeevan is now so close to top 100 rankings. A win in next match may take him there. 2 more wins and he will certainly end the year in top 100.

Go Jeevan.

Good job by Jeevan. It would be great to have a fifth Indian ranked in the top 100 of doubles at the end of the year.

They lost in the final.

At $50K+H Toyota Challenger,Japan

[F] (3) NEDUNCHEZHIYAN, Jeevan (IND) / RUNGKAT, Christopher (INA) l. (1) REID, Matt (AUS) / SMITH, John-Patrick (AUS) 36 46

Still, a good Japan trip for Jeevan where he reached 2 finals in 2 weeks. Will have to wait till Monday's ranking update to see if he has made it to the top 100.

Yes, congratulations to Jeevan for reaching top 100 in ATP doubles rankings. His #100 ranking may still be not good enough to make it to the main draw of Australian open. He will hope to raise it another 20 points or so to regularly make the main draw of at least lower level ATP events. At 28, he realised that he is not going to make it as a singles player on tour and wisely switched over to doubles.

I guess Vishnu, Sanam and VSP too may take this path next year. Sanam is 28, Vishnu 29 and VSP 30 and none of them are making any great progress in singles.

Congratulations to Jeevan for his first ATP doubles title at Chennai this week. He is now at a career high doubles ranking of 86 and should be able to play a lot more ATP events now. He does not have too many points to defend too till in April. So, if he can build on this he can get into top 75 in next 3 months before he starts defending points from April.

Jeevan lost in first round in Hawai.

At $75K Maui Challenger, Hawai

[R1] NEDUNCHEZHIYAN, Jeevan (IND) / RUNGKAT, Christopher (INA) d. ESCOBEDO, Ernesto (USA) / MCDONALD, Mackenzie (USA) 64 67(4) 6-10

Rungkat is ranked only 188 to Jeevan's 81. I don't know why Jeevan is not partnering a higher ranked player.
