Sourabh Varma is one our under ranked players, I think. He should move up in the rankings soon. Good that he made the final here.

I agree with Sameer. Sourabh is under-ranked. He should have won the whole thing.

Good performances by Indian players in the Polish International series this week.

Sourabh Varma has reached the final for second consecutive week in mens singles.

Womens singles final here will be an all Indian one between 7th seed Rituparna Das and unseeded Rasika Raje.

We also have a pair of Sanjana Santosh and Arathi Sara Sunil in the womens doubles final.

2 titles for Indians in the Polish international series.

149th ranked Rituparna Das beat fellow Indian 201st ranked Rasika Raje 11-21 21-7 21-17 to win the womens singles title.

Indian womens doubles team of Sanjana Santosh and Arathi Sara Sunil beat top seeded Ukranian opponents 19-21 21-19 21-14 to win the womens doubles title.

But, 9th ranked Sourabh Varma lost to Denmark's Victor Svendson 27-29 13-21 and finished runner up for second straight week.

Disappointed for Sourabh's loss but other 2 titles are a pleasant surprise.

A couple of good results in doubles in the international challenger events this week.

In the Welsh International challenger, the newly formed womens doubles pair of Ashwini Ponappa and Sikky Reddy finished runner up. Sikky Reddy seems to be making good progress in both womens and mixed doubles.

In the India International challenger at CCI, Mumbai the mens doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won a title for second consecutive week. No other title for us in this event although in womens singles, 19 year old Shreyanshi Pardesi finished runner up.

This is a nice article on 17 year old Satwiksairaj who is emerging as a real prospect in doubles -

Tata Open winner Satwiksairaj Rankireddy primed for the big stage

This pair will make it to the top 100 in the ranking after this title.

Satwiksairaj Ranikreddy and Chirag Shetty won the Vietnam International Challenger 2017. They were the 6th seeds and beat second seeded Indonesian in the SF and 5th seeded Thai pair in the final. This is their 6th international title together and they will be in top 50 after this title . Hope they start doing well at higher level tournaments now.
