No Sameer,That was my guess since I believed that he wont miss scoring points in Indian Futures. Not sure when this German tennis league is happening. I checked in their website also but not able to fetch any info

I have checked the entry lists for the German tennis league but VSP is not entered.Only Sumit plays for a club named "Der Club an der Alster e.V. (04004). Personally i feel its wise for VSP to play the Indian ITF to get some important ranking points so that he can get into some challengers MD level..

Thanks, Dinesh for that update on VSP. As for challengers in Germany, there is 1 challenger there starting from May 11 and then there are 3 in June/ early July. But, I think it would be very difficult for VSP to get into main draws there and going thru qualies on these challengers on red clay won't be easy either.

I wished he had played a better schedule and tried his hand at easier Asian challengers.

VSP playing qualies at Furth challenger in Germany.

At $50K Furth Challenger, Germany (Red clay)

[Q1] PRASHANTH, N Vijay Sundar (IND,401) vs. (6) EYSSERIC, Jonathan (FRA,243)

Eysseric reached the SF of tough Bordeaux challenger this month coming thru qualifying. I think too tough for VSP.

VSP will be playing a couple of $15K ITF tournaments in Netherlands from next week. The first week is a 15K+H tournament and VSP is in the 8th position in EL.

His German league tennis is happening every sunday in a week and it will get over by July second week. There are 3 ITF tournaments in Germany after that. SO I presume that he will be playing there.

I wish all his hard work and dedication gets paid. :goodluck:

P.S VSP's team in the German tennis league leads the Group 3 winning all the ties. I have not posted the results since the tournament and the players are unfamiliar.

VSP withdrew from this week's futures in Netherlands. Not sure of the reason. He is still in the entry list for next week.

He needs to get going on pro tour soon. I know playing German league may be necessary monetarily for him but basically he has missed more than 3 months now at a crucial time when his ranking could have surged towards top 300.

Good comeback win by Vijay Sundar against local Dutch player ... Now real tough test against former top-100 Jesse Huta Galung in the quarter, in 2014 Jesse was #91 in the singles and #63 in the doubles.

At $15K Netherlands F3 Futures, Zeeland (clay)

[R2] (8) N. Vijay Sundar PRASHANTH (IND,393) bt Miliaan NIESTEN (NED,655) 36 64 63

[QF] (8) N. Vijay Sundar PRASHANTH (IND,393) vs (4) Jesse HUTA GALUNG (NED,259)

VSP's R2 opponent Miliaan NIESTEN is having a great year that I thought VSP wont be able to win this. He beat the likes of Ti Chen , Richard Becker in Raanana CH earlier this year and also has 2 ITF titles this year. SO this is a commendable victory for VSp.

Also Jesse has struggled this week to win both of his matches in 3 sets. SO he must be dried.

VSP is in the doubles semifinals upsetting the 3rd seeds.

Doubles Draw

R1 N. Vijay Sundar PRASHANTH (IND) / Jan ZEDNIK (CZE) BYE
QF N. Vijay Sundar PRASHANTH (IND) / Jan ZEDNIK (CZE) 6-4 3-6 [11-9] Juan LIZARITURRY (ESP) / Maxime TCHOUTAKIAN (FRA) [3]

Productive week so far I could say but lets hope for more :D

After losing the first set 4-6, VSP saves 2 match points of his own serve and breaks Huta Galung whilst he was serving for the match at 5-4, to win the second set 7-6 on the tiebreak. Its time for the third set now. Go VSP!

Looks like the rain delay ruined his momentum. He's down 2 breaks at 4-0 in the third set. And VSP loses the third set 6-1.

Tough fight by VSP, but he needs to improve more to be able to compete against Top-150 players....
