I am pretty sure this is because all the 18 year olds of 2012 (i.e., those turned 18 at some point in 2012) are dropped from the 2013 list as they are no longer eligible for the juniors. So, this ranking is somewhat inflated in that it may not include all those will play serious juniors in 2013. The rankings after the first couple of slams will be probably be a pretty good indicia of where Sumit really is.prashanthm wrote:Sumit is at a career high #73 (combined ranking) as of 01-Jan-2013. It seems as though Sumit has not entered the Asutralian open which is surprising. I think he trains in USA/ Canada . So, perhaps did not make the long trip to Australia . He was eariler in the entry list for couple of grade 1 events in South America these 2 weeks but has withdrawn from there.
