A new subforum created to discuss Sania Mirza. As a lot of the other tennis player threads were getting overloaded, thus a new forum to discuss Sania Mirza

I thought I deleted 2. Did he post it 4 times? Who knows! Anyway, deleted 1 more copy just now :) ... Also moved those earlier posts from the FO thread.

Bethanie MattekSands tweeted
Was looking fwd to playing in Austria but had to go back to the US to get my foot healthy for Wimby. Frustrated but just another speed bump
So further doubles worries for Sania in the coming days. Now she has to choose new partner for Birmingham & eastbourne.

Anyway they would not play together for 2 weeks..Mattek had entered a tourney in Austria and Mirza had entered Birmingham..
The next week Mattek will play Wimby Qualies which Sania did not enter..Even Mattek concentrates on singles first ;)
This is why i was doubtful..how can they get a place in YEC..Mattek is worse than SANIA in the fitness department..she keeps getting injured..
So without any preparation they will play Wimby!!!I wish Sania played singles too instead..i mean it's all in the hands of ITF now for WC..then why is she behind doubles still??

Sania is planning to start her own tennis academy in Hyderabad and is expected to be launched in March next year.

Sania set to launch academy in March 2013
"I had been thinking about it for past few years now. I always wanted to give something back to sport and to India in whatever way. Sharing experience and trying to provide players a platform to perform at the highest level is the best way to give something back to the game."

"Hopefully, if not in the next 5 years, may be in 10 years, 12 years, we will have players coming out of that academy."

The academy is being constructed on a four acre land and will have nine hard courts to start with. Gradually, there will be nine more hard courts along with three clay courts.

Any idea, who will be her partner in 2013??
I heard that Srebotnik will pair up with Petrova.
So little chances of Sania teaming up with her

As per updates and photos on Facebook, Sania is training hard currently with Mayur Vasant (Harsh Mankad's uncle -- Nirupamaji's younger brother).

She will play doubles & mixed in 2016 Rio Olympic. There will be no Rushmi, no Paes, no Bhupathi but Sania.

Sania Mirza has also joined Indian Tennis Players Association (ITPA) as one of its vice presidents ... So she become 4th VP with Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Somdev Devvarman.

Very soon everyone will be a "vice" president. As if we are not guaranteed enough vice with LP and MB alone.
