Re: Its raining Futures this season
AITA has been quite good in organising futures level tournaments in India. Normally, there are around 10 futures in a year for men . Last year was an exception when only 5 were held , the reason being Delhi ( which hosts many of the tournaments) stadium was getting ready for commonwealth games. This year there are 8 futures in first half year itself & 10 similar level tournaments for women ( 6 more to come.) So, that is comparable or even better than what is being organised in any other Asian countries.
Now, we need next level mens challenger tournaments . ( not much point in holding them for women unless some players come upto at least 300-400 in the rankings.) . The other day at CCI , I heard from an official that there will be 2 back to back $ 125K challengers in November in Delhi & Mumbai. Hopefully, that will materialise & we also have some $50K challangers which could benefit the likes of Karan, Yuki, Vishnu more.

Yes, The CCI tennis Comittee head did confirm to us about Mumbai challenger. But, one never knows till all things work out. We can be sure only when they appear on ATP challenger callender which would be only arund July for November challenger. I heard MSLTA secratary talking to Yuki about Delhi challenger to be held along with Mumbai one .Omkara wrote:the $125k nov CCI challenger is confirmed. Didn't know about the delhi one.
