Good to see Sania back in action on the WTA tour right at the start of the year. The exciting new doubles pairing will also get an early airing.

Nice win for Sania!
The 2nd round opponent Francesca Schiavone is #17 ranked player. Hmmm! I really have no hope. But still I hope that Sania surprise me. Go Sania go!!

Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments 2010 ...
SM/RP were 15-40 on their opponent serve in the second game of second set, but they missed all three BPs and it is 1-1 now.
Are they playing no-ad?
Update: Yes they are playing no ad. And the story repeated in 3rd game where SM/RP were down 15-40 on their serve, but save next 3 Bps to save the game.
SM/RP lead 2-1
SM/RP again missed 1 BP in 4th game and it is now 2-2
A dominant love game by our pair.
SM/RP lead 3-2
The opponents hold at 30. 3-3
SM/RP save a BP to hold and lead 4-3
Both teams have saved 4 Break pts. so far in 2nd set. Gritty play!
Still both teames are on serve with SM/RP leading 5-4
5-5
Broken!!! 5-6
Our pair save a MP and broke them!!
Tiebreaker
SM/RP get 2 minibreaks to lead 3-0 and serving
3-1
4-1
4-2
5-3
5-4
5-5 It is getting tight
6-6
6-7 Its MP and they lose the match

Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments 2010 ...
I would put it down to teething trouble. Any new pairing takes time to settle down, and this one got better in the second set but not enough to pull off their first win on the tour. Hopefully, the next tournament will see them win a few, so that they are all set to go deep in the AO draw.
Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments 2010 ...
nice to start off the year with a win, but the pattern remains exactly the same - more games won breaking service than holding them. very low % (late 40s) 1st serve and very low 2nd serve points won. i would say just about lucky to scrape through.
with an experienced player like Francesca, this will just not do.
