Approximately what does it cost to run a $50 K +H challenger? Mahesh once mentioned that the Chennai open costs $1+ M (with ~$430 K in prize money). Guess i should extrapolate.

So the journeymen are barely making it, week to week. This was true even before the economic downturn. Life on the tour is cut-throat these days (as it is in almost every other field i can think of). Will we return back to the days of playing the game for sheer joy?

On another note, anybody know why the Dallas challenger was played indoors?

At Barclays Dubai tennis championships

[Q1] (6) AMRITRAJ, Prakash (IND,198) v. DASNIERESDE VEIGY, Jonathan (FRA,337)

If he wins this match, he will most probably play top seed 100th ranked in Ivo Minar in final qualfying round.

Prakash has pulled out of the match after trailing 0-5 (12 minutes) citing injury.................

What a waste..........No wonder people call him Mr.Injury Prone & Mr.INConsistent.........

This was his best chance because the draw looked pretty weak......

Now you make it sound like Prakash created an injuy to himself or something, because he likes to be inconsistent. Like an elaborate plan - go all the way to Dubai so that nobody would suspect his intentions, which was always to fake an injury to avoid playing for a few days or something.

Man, why are you so angry on the players? :)

As per the drawsheet , Prakash withdrew in his match due to illness. So, it could be a fever or severe stomach upset or some such thing. He may be hoping to get well before his doubles match alongwith Aisam.

Kash and Aisam had 5 break point chances but converted only 1, but Damm and Lindstedt had 2 chances and they converted both ... Overall our pair won 66 points and their opponents 69 points ... So this was the case of missed opportunities for Kash and Aisam.

At 2.233M Dubai Open Championship,

[R1] (WC) Prakash Amritraj (IND)/ Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (PAK) l Martin Damm (CZE)/ Robert Lindstedt (SWE) 67(4) 57
