August 17 - 20, 2006 Crowne Plaza Open, Tycoon Golf Club, Beijing

And in this period, if I am right we have three grand slams (or is it two grandslams)... That means players may be trying to qualify, ensuring that there is no effective off season..

The 3rd day started in a nice way, but thing started going wrong direction somewhere in the middle At one time Shiv was T2, and at other time Jeev was T5, but then they faltered. All the players of interest are having difficulty to post an under par score, except Arjun Singh.

In the no one could break par in the round 3. Arjun Singh also lost 3 strokes in a row in his last 3 holes to finish on par.

Ajay how far behind is shiv? Looks like a usual 'bad' round for jeev..

At the start of the round Shiv was 5 strokes behind the leader!

Today after 4 holes he is still 5 strokes behind the leader at 10th position!!

He is going at even par..He even made par on the par5 second hole which he had birdied all week..Lets hope he cranks it up as the rouind proceeds!

UPDATE

Shiv missed the green from the tee on the par 3 5th hole and ends up making a one putt for par...The next hole coming up is a par 5..A real birdie opportunity..one he has latched on to over the last cupl of rounds!

and he does it ...Birdies the par5...got onto the green with his second shot...A two putt for a birdie!!He is 3 strokes of the lead right now and at tied 8th!

Bogey after a birdie! ...Come on Shiv, try and string something upto together...he is back to tied 10th

arghh... Another bogey followed by a par! So after the first 9 holes Shiv has dropped to 11th and is 6 strokes of the leader.

After a eagle and a birdie on the first 2 days Shiv has only managed to make par on the par 5 10th hole in the last 2 rounds...It's about time he made a move to get a reall good finish..winning it seems to be unlikely!

It's par again and after 12 holes he is at 4 under..Wiratchant is giving him company at the same score right now!

Shiv is beginnin to fade away..another bogey on a par 3...Only 6 holes left and he is at tied 12th..he is 2 over for the day...he needs to somehow get a few birdies so that he can get a top 10 score.

Even i am following the website and well it seems to have stopped updating the scores..donno why....I jus hope it gets fixed soon enough...Shiv presently is 9th..so despite being 2 over he hasnt lost much..So must be difficult conditions...

Sridhar, sorry, it won't get fixed now. The sponsors want to increase the TV viewership, therefore they don't allow internet update near the end of the tournament. It is ridiculous, but that is the fact. I once contacted the site that provides live update, and their response was that they would like to provide live update up to the end but they are not permitted.

This is absolutely ridiculous......Dont they even have the sense to understand that those who hve access to live coverage on television would rather watch it on tv rather than follow scoring on the interent?!?!?!It's only those with no access who are hooked to the website!

Shiv finishes at a credible 7th place and he is the highest ranked of the players from the Asiantour along with Thaworn and Scott Strange...The locals bagged the first 6 positions...

Keep up the good job Shiv..Fantastic performance.

You need to be lucky to win but good to be in the top 10 and shiv has def. proved he has got grt potential!!!!

Ouch!!!

There is bad news guys...The Japanese website has developed this irritating habit of modifying scores and well as it turns out Shiv did not birdie 2 of the last 4 holes but instead bogeyed 2 of them!

So he finishes 13th ..Not bad but disappointing nonetheless

had he got 2 under for the day he wud hve been 3rd..instead he got 4 over!!

I guess I was spared of the disappointment of first believing that Shiv finished in top 10 to find out later that he was just outside top 10 at T13. Seems like the errorneous final score came with in five minutes when I last checked.

Well T13 is still a decent finish. It is noteworthy as it is coming at the back of his performance and a career high when he won last week. Its not easy to get back to work soon after a big achievement.
