i dont think narain meant to do that though. it looks like villenueve bumped him and he had to act fast to stayin control.

JV just completely shut the gate on narain, narain had no way to go except straight. Usually the stewards would have punished narain. They didnt punish him because it was partly JV's fault !

Yeah I too think that the move by Narain is legal as he had nothing to do.....it was JV's mistake.....kudos to Narain!! he managed to lead!!

Battle between Villenueve and Narain

I think there was contact between the two which isn't evident on video. A small nudge from Villenueve at that speed would have been enough to send Narain on the grass and I think that is what happened. Jacques "closed the door" more than he could/ should have.

Generally if you end up passing someone by straight-lining a corner/ chicane you would give back him his place just to be on the safe side, to escape from a drive through/ stop-go penalty. But Narain obviously felt he had passed Jacques anyways and if it wasn't due to the former world champions "antics" he would have gone ahead of him - and (hoping) that is how the stewards would look at it as well.

Thanks for the video. It is quiet clear that Narain had no other option there. He did well to comeback on track.

I don't know why he would label it as a 'good race'.

The over take was not clean. NK should have waited. Benefit of doubt went to NK. Other wise they would have asked NK to drive through in. He wasted such a good position in this race by moving to dry tyres and blew away his chances. JV finished ahead of TM. and tM got a point in this race!

this is the turning point in NK's career as TM scored a point in this race and got a stamp of approval from F1 community as a fulsome F1 driver and the best rookie.

From then fortune was not with NK :frown:

I hope he impresses at Williams because being the 4th driver in the only team that is moving down instead of up isnt going to give him much to lean on for the fuutre.

As per news Narain launches his racing team - " Amaron NK Racing and Speed NK racing will both feature two drivers each in the inaugural Formula Rolon that kicks off this August."

Narain announces his team and it has Ameya Walavalkar (Mumbai), Aditya Akkineni, Akhil Khuslani (both from Hyderabad) and Aditya Patel (Chennai). All the best to his team and hopefully they will do very well.
