Kabaddi Association of Malaysia planing to have domestic kabaddi national league for men, women and U-19 by next year.
They hope to get a minimum of eight teams – either state or clubs sides from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Perak – to participate in all the three categories with a home-and-away format of competition.

The South Zone kabaddi championship starts on the outskirts of Bangalore on Oct 29. The three-day meet attracts some 180 players and 50 officials in both men and women sections from all the six southern states in India.
Whitefield is about 20 kms from City and is famous for Saibaba's summer residence.

Fifteen teams, including Pakistan and Germany, will vie for top honours in the first ever World Cup Kabaddi tournament to be held at Bhartiya Krida Mandir, Mumabai from November 19 to 21.

the kabaddi world cup in toronto was the Amar style (punjabi type) of kabaddi and is held almost every year
this one in november is more like a kabaddi world cup EXCEPT it's not approved by the Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation or the World Kabaddi Federation.

anyway back to this world cup in November in MumbaiThe so-called World Cup in Mumbai is an unsanctioned tournament being organised by a club.
The Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation or the World Kabaddi Federation has never given any approval for the conduct of the tournament.
The organisers are getting together clubs or grouping of players from various countries and calling it a world cup.
The AAKF and the WKF is planning an official World Cup sometime later.

The inaugural Asian Beach Kabaddi Championships will be held in Mumbai from November 11-14.
Competition will be for both and men categories.
The rules of beach kabaddi are similar to the normal game with several changes.
It will be a six-a-side tournament played on sand.

"The top ranked Indian team, who are the Asian Games gold medallists, are in Pool-A along with Thailand, West Indies and Canada in the three-day meet where 12 team will vie for top honours in the Rs one crore prize money tournament", organising secretary, Jaya Shetty told PTI here today.
The Pool-B consists of Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and United Kingdom while Pool-C has Iran, Bangladesh, Germany and Nepal, he added.
"All the matches will be played on league-cum-knockout basis as per the latest Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation rules and would be played in two sessions on the last two days", Shetty said.
"The opening day will also witness five more matches under lights including the West Indies vs Canada Pool-A tie. Other matches to be held tomorrow are South Korea vs Malaysia and Japan vs United Kingdom (Pool-B), Iran vs Nepal and Bangladesh vs Germany (Pool-C)", he added.
The top two teams from each group will make it to the knock-out stage where the Pool-A and Pool-C toppers have been given bye directly into the semi-finals.
The runner-up from Pool-C and the winner from Pool-B and the second placed teams from Pool-B and Pool-A will fight it out for the remaining two semi-final berths to be held on Saturday.
The final is slated for Sunday.

Mumbai, November 16: THEY are touted as favourites not because they have three wrestlers and two judokas in their ranks.
As Asian Champions, Iran is expected to put up a good show at the first-ever World Cup Kabaddi Championship, which get underway at Wadala’s Bhartiya Kreeda Mandir from Thursday.
After the strongly-built 15-member team (12 players and three officials) arrived on Monday evening, the Iranian squad trained at Parel’s Maharshi Dayanand college on Tuesday. And during the hour-long training session, it was evident that they have a few tricks up their sleeves to catch their opponents unawares.
Putting the chances of his team in perspective, president of the Iran Kabaddi Association, Mohammad Ali Pour, says: ‘‘Our aim is to get to the final. We will take it from there on.’’
Pour’s confidence stems from the fact that Iran has had a tradional sport—jhoo—which is very similar, ‘‘almost identical’’, to kabaddi. ‘‘We have played it (jhoo) for more than a century and half,’’ Pour informs. ‘‘Technically, we’ve never had problems adapting to kabaddi,’’ he adds.
Adapting to this version has also been not difficult for Ghulam Raza Mazandarani. The 28-year-old judoka also pursues kabaddi for the “love of the sport”.
‘‘It’s a difficult question,’’ he says when asked how does he manage to concentrate on two different disciplines. ‘‘But, I enjoy participating in kabaddi tournaments,’’ replies the farmer with a towering 6’3” frame and a lean, yet muscular physique, succinctly.
Meanwhile, the Indian contingent was named with the selection committee meeting under the chairmanship of J S Gehlot, president of the Amateur Kabadi Federation of India at the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers sports complex. Sanjiva Kumar of Railways will be captaining the side. Shailesh Sawant is the lone state representative in the 12-member squad.
The squad: Sanjiva Kumar (captain), Rakesh Kumar (Railways), Navneet Gautam (BSNL), Sunder Singh, Rajbir Singh (Delhi), Jagpal (Rajasthan), Manprit Singh (Punjab), Shailesh Sawant (Maharashtra), Ramesh Kumar (Haryana), B C Suresh (BSB), Tyagraj (Karnataka), Vikash (SSCB); Balwan Singh (national coach, Services), J Uday Kumar (coach, CISF), Raghunath Mane (Tata Power, manager).
