The next hot Indian golf pro
There is no doubt that the 23 year-old Ashok Kumar who turned professional in 2002 is talented and has won two titles on the Amby Valley PGAI Tour this season. I am glad that he has set his mind to play on the PGA Tour in the future and that he plans to play the PGA qualifying tournament after he has played on the Asian Tour next year.
I think that the Indian golfers must hone their skills on the Asian Tour and then try to get into the PGA Tour via the Nationwide Tour. There is no harm if a highly talented Indian golfer can graduate from the Asian Tour to the PGA Tour in one jump. The PGA Tour is highly competitive and one should get into it once the player has the physical and mental game to play with the best golfers.
