Re: BWF tournaments Mar 2024
Bad day for us at Swiss open with only Srikanth winning his match, Priyanshu and Kiran lost to higher ranked players. Most disappointing was Tresa- Gayatri loss to an Australian pair.
Their chances of Paris qualification are much lower now.

Srikanth lost 18-21 in third game in the SF against Taiwanese. So, that is it for us at Swiss open.

Treesa/Gayatri lost in the first round in Spain so that's it for them.
Krishna Prasad and Sai Pratheek with a good R1 win against the #4 seeds.
PVS is the top ranked player so hopefully she can go deep here.

I think GayaTree need to take a step back and see what is going wrong with them. It would be a shame if they struggle like this. Not sure if Matthias Boe coaches them.

Re: BWF tournaments Mar 2024
Yes, at one point of time, I thought Tresa-Gayatri are at a stage now where Satwik-Chirag were at the Tokyo olympics i.e threatening the top teams but not quite there yet. But, in the last few weeks they have totally lost it.
After Paris Olympics, our coached need to figure out if it would be better to team up Tresa with Tanisha Crasto who is currently doing well with Ashwini who will mostly retire after Paris Olympics ( or may be pair up Tanisha with someone else) . They need to plan well now so that we have at least 1 womens doubles team contending for medals by the time next olympics comes along.

Lots of chatter about Treesa and Tanisha pairing up after Paris, but we will see if Gopi will let that happen.

Re: BWF tournaments Mar 2024
Yes, I also read chatter that Gayatri is more suitable for mixed doubles as she has good net game and not such strong back court game. In that case, she can probably look at having a good male partner and go for mixed doubles where we do not have any strong pair as of now and Tresa-Tanisha can pair up for womens doubles. Hope Gopichand does not let his personal bias come in the way if that is the best way for us to go.

Re: BWF tournaments Mar 2024
I have heard from some distant relatives whose daughter was in Gopi's academy that initially when Gayatri was trying it out in singles he did favor her over others(read more deserving). But I wonder why this conflict of interest was allowed?

Only Sumeet-Sikki Reddy reached the SF in mixed doubles. Others lost in QF. Sindhu lost a close one 20-22 in third game against Supanida.

Terrible losses. Sindhu is not in great form after a promising first week on her return.
