All of them played this week too but only Saina, Srikanth and pairs of Satawik/Chirag and Satwik/Ashwini made the second round and none of them could progress beyond that. So, do not expect much next week too.

Our badminton players continue to regress with no accountability for Gopi or anyone else.

Just watched both Sindhu's and Srikanth's matches which both of them won easily.
I felt that Sindhu's game improved actually, especially her defense and deception. Srikanth was playing good too, was playing many smashes as usual but with less unforced errors.

Watched the replay of second set. After loosing the first game 18-21, he was trailing in the second set 3-11 at the break and 6-17 at one point. But he came from behind from that point to winning that set 27-25 saving 7 match points in between. What a comeback that was. Overall a good day for India in both badminton and cricket.

Sameer Verma continues his good and gets better of #11 the Dane R Gemke 21-12,21-19 to move into the QF.
Yesterday Sameer played a fantastic match to beat top 10 Malaysian Z Lee in 3 games , brilliantly coming from 6-17 down game 2 and saving 7 match points and went on to win the match to cause a major upset
Potential QF opponent could be Kidambi, but for that to happen For that Kidambi has to overcome a top 5 Antonsen first .

Kidambi had to give walkover as his room partner Sai Praneeth tested positive for covid. Unfortunate for him as he seemed to be just getting back to form in first round. So, Sameer Varma will play Antonson in QF.

Apart from Sameer Verma, PV Sindhu ans Satwik in both mens and mixed doubles along with Chirag Shetty / Ashwini Ponappa are thru QF. All 4 are playing higher ranked players/pairs in QF though. So, let's see who goes thru.

Both Sameer Verma and Sindhu lost in the singles QF. Sameer had a great fight against world #3 Dane Antensen before losing 20-33 in third game, Sindju got swept away by Thai Intanon.
Satwik had a super day though as he reached the SF of mens and mixed doubles with Chirag Shetty and Ashwini Ponappa resepctively

Saw Sameer's match today and that was really close....the only reason he lost is because of his own unforced errors. Need to see some more tournaments but look like he is more aggressive now.

We lost in both mens and mixed doubles semi finals today. Satwik is clearly one of out best doubles talents we have produced. Hope he is able to take the next step to be in top 5 of the world. Men's doubles along with Chirag seems to be the best chance at the moment.

Srikanth and Sindhu have qualified for the world tour finals for 2020 which is being played this week.
These are the draws for our players. Current world #14 Srikanth is in Group B of mens event along with #3 Antensen, #8 Ng Ka Long Angus and # 12 Tzu Wei Wang. Not a bad draw for Srikanth.
Current world #7 Sindhu is in Group B of womens event along with world #1 Tai, #3 Intanon and #13 Chochuwong. Looks tough draw for Sindhu considering her current form.
Sindhu and Srikanth have their toughest matches against Tai and Antensen respectively first up tomorrow.
