GOATs should have an aura and matching results of invincibility. While Sindhu seems to raise her level for big events, she needs to be more ruthless in day to day business as well.
It is ridiculous to say she is GOAT. She is not even the clear GOHT, Greatest of Her Time.

Don't think anyone called her the GOAT in badminton. Or even GOHT in badminton (#2 behind Marin in my books).

She was called the GOAT of Indian women sports.

Oh, got it. Sorry! Imho, the goat of women's badminton is Yihan Wang. Despite not getting a gold (got a silver) in London when she was at her prime. The Olympic is just one tournament after all and the final is just one match.

Zhang Ning and Susi Susanti has better record in every metric than Wang yihan.

Ah, yes, Susi Susanti. I had forgotten them. Zhang Ning had won two golds at the Olympics and a World Championships. I would change my vote to Susanti. Ning and Wang have about very similar career records wrt win-loss. Ning 385-97, Wang 368-91. Susanti is much better 275-35. Comparatively, Sindhu is 312-129. Saina 414-177.

Sameer Verma also seems to be injured. So, our top 4 mens are down due to injury/illness. Sad state as of now. Hope we manage to get 2 qualifiers still in mens singles for Tokyo. That will happen if there are 2 in top 16.

As of now, Srikanth is 10th, Praneeth 13th,Sameer 18th, Prannoy 26th, Kashyap 30th, Sourabh Verma 34th.

Another early loss for Sindhu. This time against 11th ranked Beiwan Zhang from US 15-21 in third after missing a matchpoint in second.

Disastrous day in Korea. Saina also retired in her match. Satwik-Chirag too lost in a close match against 4th seeds.

Kashyap is the only one who won his match.

So looks like Saina has not recovered from her injuries. I seriously doubt she can qualify for Tokyo.

Kashyap has a decent 21-17 11-21 21-12 win over 33rd ranked Malausian Daren Liew in the second round to move thru to QF. He face the 23rd ranked Dane Jan O Jorgensen in the QF today.

And Kashyap wins over former world no 2 Jan o Jorgensen 24-22 21-8 and moves into the semis.
But a very tough match here against the world no 1 Momoto.
