Ah, right. Brain fade. Yes, I was indeed thinking of Lin Dan.

Srikanth has become somewhat of a QF bunny ( if one can call it that way). Out if last 11 tournaments that he has played since China open last September, he has lost in QF in 9 of the 11 tournaments,in the other 2 - he reached SF at Denmark open last year and final at Indian open last year.

One good thing is he has never lost before QF in not even one of those 11 tournaments since last September.

Lin Dan went on to win the title beating Chen Long in the final. So, he is still going strong at 35 and Chinese can still rule on mens side.

I feel that Lin Dan gets into the head of other players and messes up their game. Chen Long easily won the first game and then started struggling to win a point at the start of game two thanks to Lin Dan mixing things up.

Srikanth has Momota in his quarter so QF at best awaits in Singapore as well.

Kashyap scored an upset win over the top-30 Danish opponent ... Otherwise expected wins for our singles players ... Notable performance by Sai against the in-form WR #1, Kento Momota ... Sai won the first game before losing the second ... In the final game, Momota took a 9-15 and 13-19 lead and cruising towards victory ... Sai fought back to 18-19 and saved two match points at 18-20 but Momota converted the 3rd match point for a win after 75 mins ... Prannoy is facing Momota in the second round.

Sai Praneeth appears to be the best Indian in-form player currently. His close loss against Momota praiseworthy than all the wins. I do not see Prannoy giving that sort of fight in next round.

I got excited by seeing a new pair in the second round of a superseries but sadly, they got a walkover.

Yes, these are the detailed results of yesterday-

At $355K Singapore Open 2019, Singapore (HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500)

[QF] (6) Kidambi Srikanth (IND,7) l. (1) Kento Momota (JPN,1) 18-21 21-19 9-21
[QF] Sameer Verma (IND,16) l. (2) Tien Chen Chou (TPE,4) 10-21 21-15 15-21

[QF] (4) Pusarla V. Sindhu (IND,6) d. Yanyan Cai (CHN,18) 21-13 17-21 21-14
[QF] (6) Saina Nehwal (IND,9) l. (2) Nozomi Okuhara (JPN,3) 8-21 13-21

[QF] Pranaav Jerry Chopra (IND)/ N. Sikki Reddy (IND) l. (3) Dechapol Puavaranukroh (THA)/ Sapsiree Taerattanachai (THA) 14-21 16-21

Both Srikanth and Sameer took a game off world's top 2 players but got outplayed in third game. 8th consecutive loss for Srikanth against Momota and 10th QF loss for him in last 12 tournaments.

Only Sindhu made it thru but she had an easy draw this time. One can say that she is back to form only if she can beat Okuhara.

[SF] (4) Pusarla V. Sindhu (IND,6) vs (2) Nozomi Okuhara (JPN,3)

[SF] (4) Pusarla V. Sindhu (IND,6) l. (2) Nozomi Okuhara (JPN,3) 7-21 11-21

Very poor loss for Sindhu. I saw the match and it is probably the worst I have seen her play. There was no fight at all. Not sure what is wrong with her.
