Re: All England/Swiss Open/Orleans Masters March 2019
A crap draws for Saina and Srikanth in the quarters, as both of them facing the WR #1 opponents ... In the second round, Srikanth scored an impressive win over a tricky opponent, Jonatan Christie.

Re: All England/Swiss Open/Orleans Masters March 2019
I don’t know why there was lot of pre tournament hype for Indian players about a possible chance to break the 18 year jinx etc Probably all the hype was based on Sindhu form after she won world tour finals, but she lost in1st round itself and remaining two will most probably lose today ending India’s participation in this tourney

Re: All England/Swiss Open/Orleans Masters March 2019
In badminton, unfortunately, the All-England championship is no longer the most important tournament. (It was the Wimbledon of badminton, but badminton's centre of gravity has moved to Asia, both in terms of players and tournaments). It would be nice if Saina or Sindhu wins it some time, but in the greater scheme of things it doesn't matter that much any more.

Hopefully one bwf will learn how to create a draw. WR10 vs WR6 in round 1 is ridiculous

Re: All England/Swiss Open/Orleans Masters March 2019
WR9 can play WR8 in R1 as only 8 players are seeded in badminton. The reason being that there are only 32 players in the main draw. Personally, I don't like it.

Even then ATP manages it well. In a challenger draw you never saw 8 vs 9 seed R1.

Re: All England/Swiss Open/Orleans Masters March 2019
Turned out another good day for Indians ... Shubhankar scored a huge upset win over the top-10 Indonesian Jonatan Christie ... After losing the first game Shubhanakr had 3 game points at 20-17, but Christie saved those ... Shubhankar kept his cool for converting the 4th point ... Shubhankar kept that momentum for winning the third after early jitter ... Riya's run continues as in the late of first game Michelle Li retired due to injury ... Sai scored an upset win over Sameer, but Kashyap had a disappointing loss.
Prannav and Chirag won last 2 games comfortably after a slow start for them in the first game ... Ashwini and Sikki in the quarters with straight games win ... Our young pairs, Arun-Sanyam and Krishna-Dhruv, failed to challenge their superior opponents in the second round ... In MXD, Maneesh and Arjun scored an upset win over their senior compatriots Pranaav and Sikki.
Other than Sai, all having tough quarter-final matches.
