Saw the match. She didn't look focused as she usually is. I think it was same in semi final also but there she was able to regain her focus. But the Chinese girl didn't allow her that. I believe this will be her last tournament before the marriage.
Wish her great future both on and off the court!!

1/4 with only Sameer winning in 3, which confirms his presence in the year end.
Poor year for Indian badminton and hopefully Gopi and TPTB find new coaching staff quickly.

Yes. good comeback win by Sameer and he qualifies for the year ending masters for the first time.
These are full results -
At Syed Modi International (BWF super 300)
[F] (3) Sameer VERMA (IND,16) d. (6) LU Guangzu (CHN,36) 16-21 21-19 21-14
[F] (2) Saina NEHWAL (IND,9) l. (4) HAN Yue (CHN,27) 18-21 8-21
[F] (8) Satwiksairaj RANKIREDDY / Chirag SHETTY (IND,19) l. (2) Fajar ALFIAN / Muhammad Rian ARDIANTO (INA,7) 11-21 20-22
[F] (4) Ashwini PONNAPPA / REDDY N. Sikki (IND,25) l. (3) CHOW Mei Kuan / LEE Meng Yean (MAS,19) 15-21 13-21
Agree about this being poor year for Indian badminton. The only ones to gain in rankings would be Sameer Verma in singles and Satwik-Chirag in doubles, I think.

Great performance by Sameer Verma to win his third title of the year and get to his career high ranking! Hopefully, he can continue his progress and make the top 10 over the next year....
