Both players played quality match but TYT was better player on the court ... In both games, Sindhu did catching game ... TYT played some excellent drop shots and half smashes with superior court coverage to beat Sindhu ... This was TTY's 5th Superseries title of the year.

At $400K Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open 2017, Kowloon (World Superseries)

Women's Singles Final
(2) Pusarla V. Sindhu (IND,2) l (1) Tzu Ying Tai (TPE,1) 18-21 18-21

Tai has been the bugbear for both Saina and Sindhu having beaten them multiple times. However, Sindhu needs to capitalize on the current scenario and win more titles. When Saina was at her peak, there was tremendous competition. The 3 Chinese (Li Xuerei and the 2 Wangs) as well as some other Chinese, the Europeans (Tine Baun, Juliane Schenk and later on Carolina Marin) and Tai were always after her. At her peak she lost very few matches to the Japanese and Koreans. Only now Okuhara and Yamaguchi have become a threat. In Sindhu's case the only strong opposition is Tai, the 2 Japanese (though both are injury prone) and a not in peak form Marin. There are a couple of Chinese emerging (He Bingjao and Chen Yufei) but both are beatable. Saina won 10 Super Series titles. Sindhu has won only 3. She seriously needs to work on her consistency.
