Prannoy won the first game 21-17 but has just lost a marathon second game 26-28. He missed 5 match points in that second game. Perhaps, nerves getting to him. Hope he does not let it affect him in third game.

Srikanth scored a huge upset win over current Korean WR #1 Wan Ho Son after saving 1 match point in 72 mins ... Srikanth started confidently and took early control for winning the first game comfortably ... In the second game also Srikanth was in control till 13-9 but after than Son raised his game and took advantage of some errors from Srikanth ... Son won it losing only 1 more point ... In the final game, both players were matching others game and were neck to neck ... Son had a match point at 19-20, but Srikanth saved that and then he had a couple of match points which Son saved ... Srikanth converted a third match point and book the final against Japanese Kazumasa Sakai.

I saw the 3rd game. Srikanth played really well, never looked out of the game. His retrieving ability is quite good. He smashed a few into the net but his smashes also fetched him lot of points. A thoroughly professional approach from Srikanth. 1st time saw him played so good, very few mistakes, favorite for the title now.

Srikanth clinched his third Super Series title, winning the Indonesia Open men's singles trophy with a straight-game victory over Japanese qualifier Kazumasa Sakai in the final ... He completed the win in just 37 minutes to take home a big cheque of $75,000.

In this match, Srikanth played a patient game, he was good near the net and kept his nerve when he falls behind ... In the first game, Srikanth took a small lead at 6-4 and then 11-8 but after the interval, he dominated the proceeding for winning it comfortably ... In the second game, Sakai started aggressively as he was controlling the rallies and showed better net game ... He took 3-7 and 6-11 lead, but after the interval, Srikanth showed his aggressive game and caught him at 13-all ... After that, both players were neck to neck but from 19-all Srikanth completed the win with two superb smashes.

Srikanth joins Saina in having won 2 of the 3 most major tournaments on the regular calendar. (Olympics and WCH are of course still more prestigious).

Now if only, this is his base level going forward.

Getting Taufik's old coach has been great for men's singles.
