Yes, now it is upto Srikanth to make it an historic all Indian super series final.

After being 4-9 down, he is now 13-10 up in the first game.

And he wins the first game 21-13. What a comeback.

Finally we a Super Series winner (this year) on the men's side. I hope Srikanth gets to the form that had him beating top players a couple of years ago.

Yes, this the first time for us. Only 4 countries have had both finalists in mens singles in super series- China 17 times, Indonesia, Denmark and now India once. The last such instance was 9 years back.

Excellent achievement this.

That said, for full disclosure, this did come in the absence of the big 3 in Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan and Chen Long.

Srikanth of course has excellent previous pedigree with 2 super series wins and hopefully he can add a third tomorrow and start back on his path to a top 5 ranking again.

True, also the top 2 Danes- Victor Axelsen and Jan O Jorgensen too were not there. So, top 5 players were not there here. Still, a wonderful achievement particularly considering our men have been performing below par in last few months.

Axelsen lost in the first round.

Oh, I missed that. 4 out of top 5 were missing then.

Awesome dominating wins in the semis! They seem to be getting better as the tournament went on, so perhaps confidence is a factor in their performance. May the best man win in the finals!

Great job by Srikanth Kadambi and Sai Praneeth to make it an all-Indian final at a Super Series event.
Lin Dan and Lee Chong-wei are ageing, and Chen Long (who withdrew just before this tournament, having lost in the QF at the Malaysian Open) is no spring chicken at 28. So the 24 year old Indian duo have a good opportunity to make this the beginning of something truly big.

[F] Sai Praneeth B (IND, 27) d. Kidambi Srikanth (IND, 30) 17-21, 21-17, 21-12

Congrats to Sai Praneeth for winning his first Super Series title at the OUE Singapore Open 2017.
Sai Praneeth beat #41 Emil Holst, #22 Qiao Bin, #12 Tanongsok Saensombooksuk (8th seed here), #44 Lee Dong Keun and #30 Srikanth on the way to the title. Solid performances, and a well-deserved title.

Really good comeback win for lifting his first SuperSeries title.
In this match, Srikanth started confidently after winning the first game easily ... In the second game also Srikanth started confidently and took a 7-1 lead ... After 1-7 down Sai started fightback, he won next 6 points for 7-all ... From 13-14 he opened 2 points lead, 16-14, and kept that advantage for winning this game ... In the third, Sai opened 5-2 and then 10-3 lead, after that he kept the pressure on Srikanth for making mistakes ... Sai won this game comfortably for his title win.

Sai Praneeth becomes only the 4th Indian after Saina, Sindhu and Srikanth to win a super series title.

Sai is someone who had already shown ability to scalp big names ( Hidayat , Lee Chong Wei). Hopefully with this title, he will get the confidence to do it consistently.

Bit disappointing to see Srikanth lose to Sai Praneeth again (1-5 record now).

Sai is yet to show that he can beat 2 top 10-15 players in succession.

Hopefully, he will start doing that now. He does appear quite talented based on the wins over top players that he had had. It is a question of getting the consistency in doing that.

This is a nice article on him by Shivani Naik in Indian express -
