At French Open Super Series

[R2] H.S.Prannoy (IND,32) l (5) Chou Tien Chen (TPE,8) 19-21 16-21
[R2] (6) P.V. Sindhu (IND,8) l He Biangjiao (CHN,11) 20-22 17-21

Turned out to be a disappointing couple of weeks in super series tournaments at this level. Somehow, Sindhu does not seem to fire herself up at these super series events as she does at the bigger events like world championships and Olympics.

Our men seem to always struggle to win more than a round at these bigger events.

Sourabh lost in 2 close games.

[SF] Sourabh Varma (IND,57) l. (4) Shi Yuqi (CHN,16) 19-21 20-22

Still, a fine tournament for Sourabh who seems to be getting back to his peak form after an injury break. He has reached finals of the last 4 tournaments that he has played.

New talent from China is now coming up fast at the start of new Olympic cycle just when some of their greats are winding down their careers.

Shi Yuqi has now won titles in last 2 weeks and He Biangjio did the same thing on women's side.

Great momentum again from Sourabh and Sikki/Pranav. This is also the first event for Ashwini and Sikki together after Ashwini broke up with Jwala. I also wonder why someone like Kashyap is not trying these GP events as a way of easing himself back into the top league after the injury break

Pranav and Sikki lost in a close final.

At Scottish Open Grand Prix

[F] (1) Pranaav Jerry CHOPRA / REDDY N. Sikki (IND) l. GOH Soon Huat (MAS) / Shevon Jemie LAI (MAS) 21-13 18-21 16-21

Still this pair is on upswing and should move up a few spots in the rankings.
