Oh, just lost in a close 3 game match 21-15, 19-21, 16-21. Very good fight against a top 10 pair. But, we ended up losing 2-3 in the end against Japan.

Now, we will get a tougher team in QF.

Our men's team thrashed 0-5 by Indonesia. Less said, the better. 3 played, 3 losses, 0 points and finished last in Group-B.

India will play Thailand today in the Uber cup quarter finals. I think it was the best draw that we could get from among group toppers better China, Korea or Japan. Saina and Sindhu need to give a good start like yesterday. Saina has a tough task against in-form Intanon though.

Yes, brilliant win by 119th ranked Ruthvika Shivani Gadde over 25th ranked Jindapol to clinch the tie for India. Ruthvika is only 19 and looks like she is slowly getting into higher echelons and follow the footsteps of Saina and Sindhu. We needed someone in womens singles after Saina and Sindhu. It looks like Ruthvika can provide us that option.

Now, a medal is assured of us at this Uber cup repeating our success 2 years ago.

Btw, in Thomas cup , Korea created a big upset beating China in the QF.
