But, she has to make sure that she stays in top 16 and qualifies for Rio. Due to her longish injury break she has a lot of her points falling off in next 4 months or so.

Anyway, excellent win by her in the second round here and if she plays like this consistently there should be no problem about qualifying for Rio and she can hope to get into seedings too.

It's never been in doubt that Sindhu can beat top players. The key has to be to do that consistently -- hope these two wins hint at that part coming to her game. Good luck against Marin -- who has been the best player in the world for the past six months.

In the final game both players were neck to neck till 9-all, here Marin opened 3 points lead 9-12 then 11-15 ... Sindhu crawled back to 14-15 and then from 14-16 she won 6 points in a row for giving herself four match points, 20-16 ... Sindhu converted second match point with excellent cross-court smash and completed victory in 75 minutes ... In the final she is facing another former WR #1 Chinese Xuerui Li.

At $650K Yonex Denmark Open 2015, Odense (Superseries Premier)

[SF] PV Sindhu (IND,13) bt Carolina Marin (ESP,2) 21-15 18-21 21-17

[F] PV Sindhu (IND,13) vs (4) Xuerui Li (CHN,6)

Wow, that's a solid win. Go Sindhu! Olympic medal is looking like a possibility now!

Btw, why is Marin annoying? I see a comment above.

At 22 she had won 2 of the most coveted tournaments. She is a champion . Only problem is she is not an Indian and beat Saina both time to win. Hence the anger.

Marin is a damn good player, however she is likely to use all skills to intimidate her opponent, shout and at times maje gesture towards opponents while celebrating, most times will always have an issue changing shuttle but want to be changed right away while losing.

In short thou she is a WC, her tactics thou works for her but is annoying specially if we have our very own girls on the opposite side...

Wow, what a fantastic win.

I could watch the final live but just watched the replay. Sindhu won 6 straight points from 14-16 down which was superb. In fact from 11-15 down Sindhu won 10 of the next 12 points which is the stuff champions are made of.

On to her first super series final.
