Re: Yonex Sunrise India Open 2015
Expected win by Saina but disappointing that neither Prannoy nor Guru could build on their good starts to convert them into wins.
Hope Srikanth can win later to keep our challenger in mens singles alive.

Re: Yonex Sunrise India Open 2015
Yes, Srikanth is now developing a habit of winning these close matches which is what we see in top players. He has won so many of them in last 2 tournaments.
Next,
[SF] (2) K. Srikanth (IND,4) vs. (Q) Xue Song (CHN,43)
The Chinese has beaten 2 Indians, Kashyap and Guru in last 2 matches. So,Srikanth needs to avenge that. Hope I am correct in use of that term.
He is 1-1 against Chinese with Srikanth winning the match in Danish open last year but losing to Chinese in India grand prix gold last year. Both the match went to 3 games. So, this could be another close match.
[SF] (1) Saina NEHWAL (IND,2) vs. Yui Hashimoto (JPN,37)
Saina has in fact lost her only match against Hashimoto at this very tournament in 2013. But, this could be a historic match for Saina as a win here would almost ensure Saina the no. 1 ranking irrespective of what happens in remaining matches in this tournament.

Srikanth will stay at 4th even if he wins this but it will get very tight between #2-4 in that scenario.

Re: Yonex Sunrise India Open 2015
Lin Dan lost to Sugiarto today....
I was hoping for another show-down between Sri & Lin, this time in India......, but never mind... If Sri wins the tournament, he will be less than 1000 points away from Lin Dan at #3.....

And Marin loses in close 3 games against Intanon and that means Saina is confirmed to become world no.1 even before she plays her SF.

Re: Yonex Sunrise India Open 2015
I was a bit worried that she might have a let down and lose the SF. Now she should cement her number one ranking by winning the Indian Open.

And he wins too.
[SF] (2) K. Srikanth (IND,4) d. (Q) Xue Song (CHN,43) 21-16 21-13
We did not have any Indian in the final of the Indian super series so far and now we have 2 of them playing in the finals tomorrow.

Wonderful match by Srikanth. Started off tentatively, but after that he was all over his Chinese opponent and frustrating Song with his aggressive play...

Re: Yonex Sunrise India Open 2015
In the Finals........
Saina will be up against Intanon, who rallied to win against Marin today after coming back from 9-17 down in the first game.... It ended up being a long 3-gamer spanning 84 mins, which might turn out to be a good thing for Saina tomorrow.....
[F] (1) Saina NEHWAL (IND,2) v. (3) Ratchanok INTANON (THA,8)
Srikanth's opponent Axelsen got a w/o from Sugiarto (d. Lin Dan in QF) after losing the first game.....
Srikanth won his match Axelsen in the Swiss Open Final earlier this month... So, that should be a good omen...
[F] (2) K. Srikanth (IND,4) v. (6) Viktor AXELSEN (DEN,6)

Well done Saina
The Chinese are hating this but it is still a remarkable accomplishment.
