To update this thread, Srikanth has been in the form of his life in the last couple of momths reaching 3 consecutive super series finals (Singapore, Indonesia and Australia) and 2 titles ( Indonesia/Australia).

He will be in in top 10 in next week's rankings ( mostly #8) with a chance to go much higher as he does not have too many points to defend. Looking forward to great things from him at world championships in August.

This is a nice article on him-

Good to see Srikanth getting much-deserved recognition in ad world after these titles win.

Kidambi Srikanth wins two titles in two weeks, ad deals line up
In the last two weeks, several companies are understood to have initiated talks with Baseline Ventures, the agency which manages Srikanth. A top tyre company has approached him to be their brand ambassador and an FMCG major is keen to have him endorse its energy drink. These two deals are expected to fetch close to Rs 3 crore each for a three-year period.

Moments after his victory against Long, a digital giant also began talking with his agent. The deal, in an advanced stage of negotiation, is expected to fetch Rs 2.4 crore. Tuhin Mishra, managing director and co-founder, Baseline Ventures, said they would soon make few announcements in this regard.

I think some our tennis players would benefit from the Gopichand school of physical training for our badminton players.

Absolutely. Some of that elevation he gets on those smashes is unbelievable. He looks supremely fit.

I think it also helps that we have a full coaching staff including physios traveling to these tournaments.

The candid interview of Srikanth after ack to back Superseries titles.

In the form of his life, Kidambi Srikanth vows much more
So much of your game is about attacking, particularly, that jump smash. Perhaps nobody plays it better. How long have you been working on that?

It has been a while, and the whole credit goes to Gopi sir. He's really helped me develop that shot. He's the one who has pushed me towards that. In fact, most of my shots and skills are because of his training. It's all due to his focus. I have really worked hard on improving that stroke, but I have not thought about how it looks to opponents. It's about working on every aspect of your game and to try to attain perfection.

Is it a disadvantage that the World Championships are in August? Would you have liked to enter such a big tournament sooner, given your form?

No, to be honest. Every time I have trained hard for longer periods of time, I have performed really well. I would love to train for longer periods to keep getting better and keep pushing myself. As I said, there is a lot more to achieve.

He is well on the way to becoming India's best ever male badminton player greater than Prakash Padukone also.

In overall consistency, he is well on the way to becoming India's greatest badminton player (male or female).

He needs medals at the WC/Olympics level to get ahead in stature though.

Superb performance. In the last 2 weeks, there were at least 3-4 matches where he lost the first game but turned it around. This is a sure sign that he is getting mentally and physically stronger.

I think he has a pretty good chance of ending the year as world #1.
