Reslly good to see some wins from doubles teams in this world championships. We need to get better in doubles in badminton to be effective in mixed team events.

Expected win from Srikanth; Chen Long will be a bridge too far in the next round.

Re: BWF World Championships (Copenhagen 8/25/2014 to 8/31/20
It was an excellent comeback from Saint. She was down a game and 8-13 down in the second game and looked to be on her way out. Saina just about managed to hang in there , took her chances when the Japanese made few errors in the second game and then did not give a Japanese a chance in the third game.

Re: BWF World Championships (Copenhagen 8/25/2014 to 8/31/20
[R3] (11) P V Sindhu (IND,12) d. (6) Yeon Ju Bae (KOR,5) 19-21 22-20 25-23
Sindhu fights back strongly after losing a close first game and after trailing 5-11 at the interval and saving 2 Match points in the 2nd game at 18-20, she won 4 points in a row to win the game 22-20 and forced the match into the decider...
9-11 at the interval of the decider....
13-16... to 20-17 with 3 Match points for Sindhu...
Couldn't convert any, 20-20...
22-22 now after a misjudgement by Sindhu at the backline... 5 Match points gone now...
23-23, saved the 3rd match point...
24-23, 6th match point for Sindhu...
And she wraps it up....
WHAT A WIN...
Can't get any closer than this........

Re: BWF World Championships (Copenhagen 8/25/2014 to 8/31/20
Fantastic win by Sindhu. She just kept fighting all the way (like Saina did) and was clearly the better player than the Korean towards the end but had to wait for 5 matchpoints to finish the match. Great to see both our players coming back from a game down to win their matches today. It does not happen too often with our players.
So, getting 2 in a world championships quarter finals is great but now comes the hard task for both playing the top 2 players in the world and both Chinese. Just felt Saina was a little slow today and is perhaps not 100% . Certainly did not look as good as she did in Uber cup few months back. Therefore, I think Sindhu has a much better chance of causing an upset if she is not exhausted by today's marathon effort.

[R3] Srikanth K. (IND,23) l. (2) Long Chen (CHN,2) 12-21 21-10
Srikanth fought hard in the first game to get from 6-12 to 11-12 with 5 straight points, but couldn't sustain the surge and could win only one more point in the first game...
for the second game...
Srikanth never got off the blocks in the 2nd game and lost tamely in the end....
