World championships started yesterday in China.
Ajay Jayaram caused a big upset beating 12th seed Hongkong player in first round while our doubles players had a bad start.

I think there is some mistake in case of Kashyap. Both Hindu and the tournament results page seem to suggest that it was his opponent that retired. So the next match is:

Kashyap wins the first game comfortably at 21-13... It was close at 9-7, but he ran away with the game after that......
Kashyap is leading 11-7 in the 2nd.....
From 6-7, Kashyap won 8 straight points to lead 14-7..........
Yun making a comeback of sorts 14-11 now.....
Yun managed to draw level at 15-15, but Kashyap raised his lead to 19-16 now, just 2 points away from the match...
And he wraps it up 21-16 in a total of 37 mins...., Comfortable win in the end.......

Next up against the 3rd seed.....
Kashyap lost the only match they've played against each other so far......

Sindhu just did something that Saina could never do in so many attempts. Amazing. This has been such a good tournament for us. It's fair to say that badminton is one sport where we indeed have come up some notches in the past decade.
