$700K Indonesia Open 2013, Jakarta - Superseries Premier
As expected big Indian contingent but surprisingly Sindhu is missing this event ... Hopefully nothing serious injury scare.
Only Sai Praneeth and pair of Aparna Balan-Siki Reddy qualify for the main-draw ... After losing the first game Sai dominated the second, he won 14 points in a row from 7-3 for winning this game ... In the final game also Sai was leading from the start but lost his concentration from 19-14 and gave chance to Momota ... Momota caught with him at 20-all but Sai converted 3rd match point.
Aparna Balan-Siki Reddy also scored hard fought win ... All three games were closely contested but Aparna-Siki lost the first game ... In the second game they had early lead which they conceded but Aparna-Siki saved a match point before winning this game ... In the final game also Aparna-Siki take early game but each time their Thai opponents fought back ... Our pair converted sixth match point for exciting win.
Other hand poor outing for our men's doubles pairs.

In the final game Saina started with 5-0 lead which she kept increasing and won the match after 74 minutes ... Next she is facing little unknown Japanese opponent Sayaka Takahashi.
In MXD Tarun-Ashwini also had close match against local pair ... In the first game after 6-3 lead Tarun-Ashwini kept this lead throughout the game for winning this ... In the second game Indonesian pair won 10 points in a row from 3-7 down to take control which they won comfortably ... In the final game Our pair take early couple of points lead but Indonesian pair caught them at 12-all ... Then Indonesian pair take 2 points lead at 17-15 but Tarun-Ashwini managed to make it 18-all ... Tarun-Ashwini saved a match point at 19-10 before converting 4th match in extra points ... Next they r facing 7th seed Polish pair.

How can World No 1 face world no 14 in R1. Tennis has a better system of creating draws...

Injured Sindhu to skip Indonesia Super Series Premier
Malaysia Grand Prix Gold champion P V Sindhu would skip the Indonesia Super Series Premier badminton tournament to be played next week in Jakarta after failing to recover completely from a knee injury.
The Asian junior champion, who had suffered a niggle last month and further aggravated it at the Sudirman Cup mixed team championship in Malaysia, had also pulled out of the Thailand Grand Prix Gold this week.
Confirming this, chief national coach Pullela Gopi Chand said Sindhu had started training in the last few days but she was not 100 per cent and hence would pull out of the Indonesia Open.
“The call over her Singapore Super Series participation (that will follow the Indonesia Open) would be taken in a few days after seeing her progress in practice,” he added.

If both our boys win tomorrow, we will have an all-Indian semifinal at the SuperSeries level.
That will be a first I think.

Wow, I love this depth. We don't have to rely on one or two guys winning. Looking good, Rio
