Re: Parupalli Kashyap thread - WR #7 Mar 2013
Are bhai, whatever. I'll take #7 anyday to being outside. It means that the others have not done as well in the last year except six dudes. Now target #5. Let two more slip and he hold his ground. Or he climb up rapidly. Whatever. Target #5 --- for now!

Kashyap did nothing spectacular to be where he is now, but he was more consistent than others around him in the ranking list....

He climbs one more place, #6, though his performance in last few tournaments doesn't justify his ranking.

Now he is the Tomas Berdych of badminton. At this rate, it looks like all he has to do is to sit tight and do nothing, to become the Novak Djokovic soon too. Jay

Lol! People are taking the current ranking of kashyap too much seriously...
This is actually the after effect of the olympics...as too many players have hardly played since Olympics and Kashyap being one of the few players who played almost every SS after Olympics...
This actually happens after every Olympics..

Kashyap deserves this ranking and I'll proudly call him the World Number 6 as of now. We had the success of Saina but this guy is doing something consistently along with improvements; and his Olympic performance speaks for him too.

IIRC, he reached the final at the same tournament last year. Didn't he ? In that case , he is likely to drop in the rankings after this week as he lost in the first round this year.
