There is nothing being partial or not to do here....She was even reluctant to play Superseries finals but she has to play because of the points to defend there....indiansportsfan wrote:Saina has played (and won) other GPG tournaments this year, so why being partial against one held in your country? And if she had won this one, it would have improved her points total. More likely she was pissed off at someone/something so decided to take it out this way.

I really don't understand why it is so important to give so much importance to Saina/taufiq for these tournaments. Without them the tournament went well. Congrats to Kashyap for his first GP.

Re: Syed Modi International India GPG 2012
Thanks jaydeep for the nice updates on the matches. Damn, I was counting on Sindhu winning this. But Kashyap made up for it. Good job by both of them to keep the flag flying through the final matches... Jay

Re: Syed Modi International India GPG 2012
As for BAI, they are formulating new rules to ensure that Indian players play a certain few tournaments in India. This after the Saina fiasco in this tournament. I don't know what to say. Why give so much importance to people who really don't care.

Good win for Kashyap to take the title. This also helps him achieve his career best ranking of ~15....
Despite the loss in the finals, Sindhu could hit her career best ~19......

Re: Syed Modi International India GPG 2012
Congrats to Kashyap on his fine win and his career best ranking of 15!
He has been looking like a top 10 player since the Olympics and hopefully he can have a strong year and actually get there. I think Gopichand was the last Indian man to crack the top-10 in badminton, so it has been a while...

Yes, he has indeed been looking like at least a near-top-10 player. He said top-10 is his goal for 2013 in an interview, which is posted in the new P.Kashyap thread I just started. Jay
