!! I am claiming the silver medal to be as charming and as valuable as 80% of Gold!!
Rather than replacing Gopichand, why not try to augment his coaching with better support staff, including some specialists sport psychology, software for better analyses, etc. There is always room for improvement and it need not come by replacing someone!! Obviously a politician jumping on the bandwagon wouldn't know any better....
