after a gap of 2 years China will be finally hosting World tour Finals this December and will require strictest measures of bubble to let players participate. I think players won't be amused to go through all that non sense just to participate!
The BWF World tour finals has been moved out from China to Thailand due to Covid-19 concerns (in late 2022, Covid is still a concern probably only in China) and will take place from Dec 7 -11.
Anyways, India has only solo participant in Prannoy since Sindhu pulled out due to injury. I thought Satwik/Shetty pair raking would be good enough for their inclusion, but obviously not as all qualifiers have been announced.
Top 8 finalists

Malavika Bansod is the Indian women #2 now? I had not even noticed the name much. How good is she and fellow 21-year old Aakarshi Kashyap, who are both right outside top-30 along with Saina? Do these to have potential to get better and reach top-10?

I have more hopes on Tasnim Mir than Malvika Bansod or Aakarshi Kashyap. I have watched both of them and they seem to be having a one dimensional game. They lack power in the strokes as well. Top 10 looks difficult but a few good results here and there could get them to top 20. Don't see them winning as many tournaments as Saina or Sindhu did.
On the other hand our 2nd men's doubles pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila seem to be a good prospect as is Mithun Manjunath in men's singles.

Thanks for the update! Good to know that you feel good about Tasnim. Still only 17, I think...

Chirag-satwik in top 5 is the most pleasing......A few years ago, we used to use that there us no future of doubles in India.....Now, chirag-satwik has broken that mental barrier!!

Like others here I do not see much hope from Malvika Bansod or Aakarshi Kashyap. There have there or thereabouts for few years now without showing any spark.

17 year old Tasnim Mir and 15 year Unnati Hooda may be next big hopes on womens side. But, still too early to say if either of them is on Sindhu or Saina path i.e top 3-5 level.

Becoming u19 world #1 amongst girls at 17 doesn't amount to much. Most top girls are actually breaking into the senior ranks at that age. See my previous analysis.

Anupama was the top seed at the BWF juniors (which is way more predictable of future success in the girls) and easily lost in the 3rd round (in a 128-player draw) to a Chinese who herself didn't last that much longer. Honestly, she appears like someone who has maximized junior rankings by playing a lot, and has done nothing at the senior level (the SF run at the Syed Modi was in a Covid impacted severely depleted field).

Anwesha Gowda at 14 at #6 in the same rankings seems way more promising but obviously very early days for her. Same for Unnatti Hooda.
