Re: General Cricket Thread ...
An interesting fact after retirement of MS. India lost odi series in New Zealand, Australia & South Africa. So, its only E - England, remaining for defeat out of SENA Countries. It has been horrible performance of team India in Odis in last 3 years in overseas

Re: General Cricket Thread ...
Plenty of international cricket action going all around the world after the end of World Best T20 League, IPL
WTC 2021-23 - NZ Tour Of England
Finally a win for England at home after poor Ashes and WI tour banking on Joe Root's innings of character of 115*. The test match was evenly poised and was creating interest in every session. However, England managed to cross the line banking on Root's ton followed by comeback of Broad Anderson duo.Potts had excellent debut of getting 7 wickets in the match after good county season. Stokes underperformed but will cherish his first win as England Test Captain

Re: General Cricket Thread ...
Not sure if anybody is watching but England and New Zealand are playing a memorable match. England just scored 118 runs in 10 overs thanks to Bairstow and Stokes. By the way this is a test match. India didn't score 118 in 10 overs in their T20. At this rate survival of T20 is a big question.

Re: General Cricket Thread ...
A rare and creditable achievement by Hong Kong to qualify for the Asia Cup to join India and pakistan for the ACC championships. What makes it more commendable because this side is the 2nd string HKg comprising 80% Pakistan origin and 2-3 College going Indians , who could spare time for this long tour which commenced , 3 months ago in Namibia , Uganda and now to the ACC Qualies.
None of the experienced Expat players from UK, Australia , India could make the team , as the tour involved staying 3 months away from work, My son too was in the probable short list of 24 players and when the questionnaire was given to the probables on availability , my son like all the expats due to work commitment chose "available for only 3 weeks rather than 3 months" due to work commitment. Finally all those who said 3 months eventually made the team which now comprised of Pakistan origin , and University going 3 Indian kids (one who could spare the long period of 3 months )and in the later part in desperation ,with not much back ups available the team management even hurriedly even imported a UK based player Scot McKeknie who had left Hkg 3 years ago, But still with a depleted squad to make the ACC final rounds is a big achievement .

Re: General Cricket Thread ...
Thanks Atithee for your enquiry about my son, Devang is doing fine and juggling with his work as a Geotechnical Engineer overseeing the 3 billion dollars tunneling projects in HongKong for his company and playing cricket alongside and the last cricket season headed the season averages being # 3 in the batting averages.
https://www.crichq.com/competitions/890 ... ds/batting.
Could have made the team but eventually like the few other expat bankers and University professors had to give a shorter available option which was not accepted by the association.
The new season starts next week and hopefully should make it for future shorter tours.

Re: General Cricket Thread ...
Rajiv, it's great to see your son, Devang Bulsara's numbers -- 55+ batting average at a strike rate of over 80, with a century and 3 fifties in 9 innings. Very impressive stuff. It would have been so great to see him playing in the Asia Cup.
