Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019
Dhoni drops one off Kedar again. The issue is whether Pant can bat in ODIs? In the long run, he can. But can he do it in the short run for the WC? The problem is that Risabh scores only 28 or so in List A's. If we are playing Karthik, then we should choose the best batsman. Is it Pant? Or Gill? Or Iyer? Or whoever ...

Vijay Shankar is a Ganguly-style trundler. But can he get wickets like Ganguly regularly did early in his career?
He’s nearly done his initial job, but will probably need to bowl more overs as the spinners aren’t getting much help here. Dhoni’s drop didn’t help.

Dhoni is going to the WC as first choice keeper. All our deliberations are just to vent.
The only realistic thing we can hope for is Gill to be the 4th batsman in the xi.

Surprised that Jadhav bowled a sixth over, when Vijay Shankar had been much more economical. The 10 overs from the fifth bowler are done. Time for Chahal!

One of the worst stumpings I have ever seen. I guess a miss is worse and a fumble is worse. But, he juggled the ball a bit and was slow. I really hope his reflexes hold up. Why do we need to keep him?

Jadeja is going at 5.5 per over when overall run rate is just above 4. I do not see him as very good either as a bowler or batsman in ODI's. I guess he may still go to the world cup. But, most probably Pandya will replace him in the the eleven.

Vijay Shankar should’ve come in ahead of Dhoni, to test his batting under a bit of pressure.

Kedar Jadhav re-emphasising that he HAS to be picked well ahead of Rayudu. In fact, the latter has hopefully lost his place on the plane to England for the World Cup.

Dhoni’s idiocy on display again! There is no need to make it a nail biter, but he will. If he fails, he should be dropped forthwith for the NZ series.

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019
Credit where it's due, well played by Dhoni and Jadhav at the end as India win the series. Rohit Sharma had said it in the press conference that he'd like to see Dhoni at no.4 and I guess this match might make a case for that. Of course one can argue that the low total of 230 masked the discrepancies for India's middle order. Nevertheless it was a composed display at the end and rain couldn't save Australia this time.
Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019
I just got the feeling that Australians chose whom they want to be India’s #4 in their World Cup encounter
Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019
Sorry I would agree with PKB here, no credit for making nail biters out of no contest, rightly Chahal is selected Man of the match at least and not Dhoni!
