We couldn't chase down 190 in the 1st test, so not much hope for a reversal of the mental collapse that we are experts at. Should we have played 2 spinners here? I felt that playing 2 spinners on this pitch would have been the way to given that there is a fair amount of turn on day 2. By the time we bat, Moeen will be lethal!

Ashwin needs to get a lot of wickets tomorrow to make up for his stupid batting today. Same with Pandya.

We’ve had so many of those heartaching failures in the last few years and the current Asian games ones too, which make me nervous. But, this bowling attack has generally delivered. Now, it’ll be up to slip catching and resolute batting to win the match. I think Kohli himself and through his leadership has it in him to inspire this bunch. May the force be with us.

I missed watching the session in which Moeen ran through the Indian batting, but he seems to do really well against us in England -- perhaps because our batsmen under-estimate him. When he bowled in India, the batsmen were better-prepared for him and thrashed him. Hopefully, this will be the only innings in which he proves this deadly against us. But we still have the Oval test (the only real turner in England) coming up.
