Re: Womens World Cup
A really special innings played by Harmanpreet Kaur in the semi final v Australia. We have finished with 281 and it's 42 overs a side. That is absolutely brilliant. Can't lose it from here....surely even for Indian teams that is a winning total!

Re: Womens World Cup
Harmanpreet literally tore the Aussies apart. The score was 101/3 after 25 overs, and they ended up at 281/4 by the close of innings (42 overs). That's a freaking 10.58 runs per over in the last 17 overs against an Aussie attack, no less! It's high-time media highlighted such performances. Indian Women's team deserves much more than what they get.

Re: Womens World Cup
Truly spectacular stuff from Harmanpreet. What is great about this team is that (like the men in 1983) different players come to the fore in fashioning every win. One more to go!!

Re: Womens World Cup
Harman Preet Kaur what an innings by her at the time when her team needed the most. 171 at of 115 balls with a strike rate of 148 which was a match winning inning by her and lead her team toward the final at Lord's. It is the one of the golden movement for Indian women's team to play the world cup finals at the Mecca of Cricket. I read this at this news at -http://bit.ly/2uh8tU8

Re: Womens World Cup
India restrict England to 228 in the final, with the soon to retire Goswami taking 3 key middle order wickets. But we have already lost the out of form Mandhana in the second over. Finely balanced...

Re: Womens World Cup
Superb Bowling by Jhulan Goswami in the semifinal (when she got the vital wicket of Lanning with a beauty plus another wicket) and now absolutely outstanding stuff in the final: 3/23, including 3 maidens out of 10 overs, and the wickets of the two highest scorers for England, who were threatening to take the match away.
Excellent batting from Punam Raut so far.

Re: Womens World Cup
England's pacers look a lot better than India's. Jhulan no longer has the pace and swing she had when younger, relying more on guile. Pandey was woeful today.

Re: Womens World Cup
Laura Marsh looks the best spinner on either side.
But the quality and depth of the Indian batting should take us to the World Cup title.

Re: Womens World Cup
Horrible choke...only Indian teams can lose from such a position. Horrible feeling. But kind of expected. Wish they had't got so close. Better to lose badly rather than throw it away.

Re: Womens World Cup
Really idiotic not to have sent Deepti Sharma in at #5. India just needed to play normally at that stage (191/3), and the keeper Verma played an asinine shot (but she shouldn't have been batting in that position).

Re: Womens World Cup
Our bowling and fielding is pretty ordinary, but the younger ones are very talented (including in the field). The team will be a lot stronger 4 years from now (as long as they can find a successor to Jhulan when she retires).
