SRH batting depth is pretty poor. Mannish Pandey’s failure, Vijay Shankar unavailability due to COVID has really weakened their batting.PKBasu wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 2:55 pm Priyam Garg looks a complete misfit in T20 cricket. The former under-19 star has a batting average of 58+ in first class cricket, but less than 20 in T20s. It would be best to drop him rather than waste a spot in the SRH middle-order for someone who is uncomfortable in T20s.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)
They've dropped Manish Pandey!! But his replacements aren't up to the mark. Abdul Samad, the young Kashmiri, is a good clean hitter. To hit Hazlewood for 6 over long on takes some doing.
Unfortunately for Samad, Hazlewood had the last laugh, getting his wicket soon afterwards.

Age of CSK players in playing 11 - 40, 37, 37, 36, 34, 34, 32, 30, 29, 29, 24
I don’t think this team would have lasted the full season if it had not been suspended.

Yet, they are the best team. I do not think that they would have gone down in performance even in a continuous season. Yes, old guys tire more easily but this is a short season even if it is full and T20s. Maybe they would not be running any sharp singles and one or two could be injured. But, tip your hat to Dhoni and the team management. They have done a phenomenal job managing their limitations and bringing out the best overall performance.
So it is Mumbai and KKR duking it out for #4 with PK and RR right on their heels. The rest are either in or out. More or less.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)
I have a suspicion that the 24 year old quietly snuck into the field. And, then when Dhoni counted bodies it was 11 and he did not call anyone else in.
And reliable sources told me that the two 29 year olds nodded their heads vigorously and told Dhoni "Yes sir!!!" when he asked them whether they are 30 or over ... So, those two sort of snuck in too. The rest are honest, down-to-earth blokes. Not sneaky.
Now that Kumar posted, Dhoni will read it and find the 24 year old and chuck him out. Poor guy. Expect him to be axed promptly and punished. Dhoni may even prevent him from standing the whole match let alone get on the field during the next match.

Well, India if you ask kids how old are they, they will say their running age! So the guys like Dharmarajan shouted loudly 30 sis and then muttered running to themself
When Dhoni heard the name Gaikwad, he thought it was Anshuman and happily agreed.
By the way, Do u remember a middle order either now or in past that had bigger paunch than CSK’s 4,5,6 batsman?

I think all the broadcasters and you tubers love Ashwin. He keeps the game front and central in the news.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)
Another impressive knock from Venkatesh Iyer. He is making a strong case to be picked for the T20I world cup.
Rahul has been reprieved by the 3rd umpire although Sunny Gavaskar, Kevin Pietersen and Ian Bishop all thought that he was cleanly caught off Shivam Mavi at long on. Very marginal decision, but Rahul was distinctly lucky -- and that should be the match (although Punjab Kings have a remarkable ability to mess up the last over of a chase, no matter how few runs they need).

Shahrukh Khan (cricketer) wins it for Punjab. Tripathi had a chance to catch that or at least palm it back on to the ground (in the 3rd ball of the last over, after Iyer had got Rahul's wicket off the previous ball), but he instead dropped the catch and let the ball go over the rope for 6! Poor fielding there.

Yes! He had a poor outing today with the ball, but apparently nailed some terrific yorkers in the previous match.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)
Tale of two sixes and venkatesh was involved in both of them.
The first one he had a chance to make a awesome catch at the boundary line, but was unable to stay inside
The second time around he was the bowler. If they were able to restrict to 2 runs, they could have won. KKR is missing Russel big time,
He needs to show more with the ball to walk into World Cup. If he can get KKR win the IPL or at least take them to finals with both ball and bat, he will make a huge case to make the team.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)
Eoin Morgan is in crappy form. Drop him. Get Shakib. Bowling and batting both improve. Stupidity by KKR is having them lose matches that could have been won.
