Indian Women's Cricket

Surprisingly there was a lot of crowd support...The match today was played in Silchar and all the matches are being shown live......

Subcontinent pitches cant b the only xcuse that the Englishwomen have...coz todays pitch had a lil bit of movement and a lot of damage was done by the tall lanky pacer Jhulan Goswami...She is quick and she is proving to b a match winner

I am surprised despite the fact that the match is telecast live cricinfo does not have live scorecards for the match...they stil hve not put up the final scorecard

Seriously match has been played in the NE.

Good to see that India has won the 4th match too. Now they are leading 3-1. 50 is too low. Good job bowlers. Can I get the match report.

Sridhar, actually Cricinfo has scorecards and match report for all the ODI's and test matches. Here is the link: -

http://ind.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/2005 ... IN_SL_IND/

And all women matches can be found at: -

http://ind.cricinfo.com/db/WOMEN/

So, our next match is on Dec 9th at Kolkata. Though the match doesn't hold much importance for India, England would be looking for restoring some pride. In any case it would be nice to see our Women's team crush England 4-1.

Like i said Sandeep...They have no live scoring options..They only post the match scorecard and the bulletin a few hours after the completion of the match..Unlike all other matches where they have live scoring!!

After amazingly encouraging crowds in places like Silchar it is really disappointing to see empty stands at the eden gardens...The Indian Women are playin extremely well right now and have put on a century stand in jus 22 overs!!!!

I was in Lucknow during the 2nd ODI. From the newpaper reports, it seems that there was a big crowd to watch the match.
Here is a report in Lucknow Times about the post-match functions.

There were a lot of people at most places bar the eden where perhaps the giant stadium may also have contributed to the fact that it seemed like an empty place...but anyway the Indian women registered another comrehensive victory to win the series 4-1...Karu Jain infact scored a century( :notworthy: ) a score not often attained in one dayers in Women's matches!!!!

have been going thru the tour diaries of one of the english players posted in cricinfo nd its really irritating to see the kind of inhibitions with which these players come to tour the subcontinent...especially these days when they are hosted in high end hotels and given all the facilities...no wonder then that with this mindset they really got DRUBBED in this series!!

Was just wondering is there any rankings in women's cricket? Where does our team stand?

I don't think they follow rankings for Women's cricket. But our team is pretty good. Was finalist in the worldcup and now thrashed England.

Our next series against Australia should be a real tough one. Just like Men's team Australian women also are invincible winning the world cup 5 times!!! We are touring Aus next and it should be a tough one.

Congrats to Indian team for this 4-1 series victory ... But as Sandeep mentioned our next tour of Australia will be very tough ... Very demanding and give good experiance of playing in Australia ... Hopefully we will manage to put up fight against 'mighty' Aussies.

Jaydeep.

Well we came runners up in the World cup. India lost to Australia. And the main teams i think(not sure) are Australia, India and England. So basically as per my estimation India is 2nd best.
