I would always take 3/59 even if it is at 7/over. However, if it was a low-scoring match, then about 20 runs/wicket may not be enough. Only in that circumstance it is not good bowling. Our spinners in earlier years would buy wickets and I think that is a perfectly legit strategy.

This Men's U25 One Day competition seems new domestic odi tournament added instead of Deodhar Trophy. Its a great initiative to add new age group cricket in domestic which will increase talent pool for upcomming world cup

Pujara has one of the best List-A records imho if you want a accumulator. He has been batting more fluently of late. His List-A average is 55, which is possibly higher than anyone I can remember bar Kohli maybe. He was given only 5 ODIs and then canned. Never got a fair chance. Similar to Saha, I think. In the meantime, we have played every Tom, Dick and Harry who is not deserving. The question is how good a fielder is Pujara? On the other hand, if he does show significant achievements, then we should give him more ODI chances.

Of course, the selectors will show no such flexibility. But, that does not mean we should not discuss. The problem, of course, is that we have a lot of candidates who can bat well in India at the top of the order.

Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli, Rahul, Gill, Iyer, Pant, Hardik, Hooda are the contenders and it is hard to see Pujara replace any of these. Gill maybe but that would be a step backwards. 3 pacers (Shami, Bumrah, PK) and 3 spinners (Jadeja, Chahal, Kuldeep?) more for games in India.

We are talking about a World Cup here, right? Which format? Pujara playing in any limited over format is not going to happen.

Pujara has really come into his own as Sussex captain. He is having an absolutely spectacular season -- first in first-class cricket and now in List A. But playing him in a home ODI tournament doesn't make sense. He should, on the other hand, have been considered for the 2019 World Cup in England.

Krunal Pandya is also having a decent start with Warwickshire in the List A competition.

4 matches 97 runs, 9 wickets, economy on the higher side, needs to perform more with the bat. Axar is way ahead

Its look terrible, we have such a rich domestic cricket history with so much talents, still we didnt had any top order wicket keeper batter with average of 30+ in test & odi after Farokh Engineer since 1975 till MSD appeared, most of the keepers appeared as tailanders, Ganguly's team which looked best suffered controversy as Dravid was asked to keep, and because of MSD impact we are now debating on 4 proper WK batsman.

After Kapil Dev, we had bunch of bits & pieces pace bowling allrounder / bowler who can bat Chetan Sharma, Manoj Prabhakar, Robin Singh, Bangar, Sodhi,JP Yadav. Irfan Pathan plan worked well in initial stages but later he completely lost swing & pace with the ball that shortened his career. With Pandya as a star we got Rishi Dhawan,Thakur, D Chahar, Shankar, Dube, V Iyer but that allrounder bitefactor his missing from others which we get from Stokes or say Holder

A bowling all rounder need not be a medium pacer. They can be spinners also. In Jadeja and Ashwin we have 2 all rounders would would soon join the elite club of 3000 runs and 300 wickets.
