Wishing Sania the best in her retirement after this year. She truly was historic in what she achieved as a tennis player. Only wish her success generated a strong contingent of female players who regularly competed on the WTA your. Sadly that never happened.

Re: Sania Mirza Comeback (2020-22). Retired 2023
That was a MASSIVE upset for our pair of 35+ year olds (Hradecka is 36, Sania 35). They defeated the two players jointly ranked #1 in the world in doubles -- and hence of course, the top-ranked pair as well.
Sania has moved back in to the top-50 in the live doubles rankings. She is now #48. Her partner Hradecka is ranked #18 in the live rankings.

Sania can crack top 10, if she can keep herself fit. Great result.

Watched Sania today at the Miami Open and she played great and was the dominant player on court. She won 6-3, 7-6 and her serve was great! It’s a pity she is retire at end of this year - I think. Will miss her game.

Re: Sania Mirza Comeback (2020-22). Retired 2023
It's indeed sad that her career is coming to an end. We had very few players who played as well as she did. What's bad is that even today we have very few like her. Or just nobody.
It's not about whether she won or lost. It's about the quality of the game.

Re: Sania Mirza Comeback (2020-22). Retired 2023
Sania is in the final of the Charleston WTA500, partnering Lisa Hradecka. They beat the top-seeds in the SF. Incredible stuff, especially as Sania was reported to be injured before her QF here...

They lost a close one in the final though... Close matches all week, but a good run for Sania.

Re: Sania Mirza Comeback (2020-22). Retired 2023
We have so many players, male and female for whom we run threads. None of them are able to make an impact at the ATP/ WTA level. And here is a semi-retired player who still continues to make waves on the WTA doubles circuit. Wonder when we shall get out next Sania.

Re: Sania Mirza Comeback (2020-22). Retired 2023
Everyone seems to update scores of Challengers, Futures and other tournaments, It's Good we are encouraging new players, but there are very good players who are playing main draws of Major Tournaments happening this Year as well.
No one is posting the result of Sania Mirza( From Dubai to Rome) - I am noticing it, Just as she announced that she is going to retire does not mean she is not playing right now
This is my general observation
On the Other Side, She is playing well with Hradecka( She has a good chance for YEC), They have played 3 Tournaments- 2 SF and 1 Final Showing
They are playing Rome this week being 6th Seeds and Scored a good win against YEC challengers
WTA ROME 2022
Hradecka/Mirza beats Routiiffe/Rosolska 6-1 6-2

^^^ Oh, I forgot to check Sania scores, again ... You are right. We keep forgetting her, which we shouldn't. The best ever woman player by a huge margin in our tennis history.
