Wow 1st set stats look quite good. The best part is no DF and the ease with which she is breaking her opponent.

Mirza saved 2 BPs in 1st game of 2nd set. Malek held on to the second game after being 0-40 down. Its even at 2nd set 1-1.

After being up 4-2 in the second set i wonder how she lost the second set 6-4. Comeon sania now show some urge to succeed to reach higher levels

3rd set:

More woes now.
SM lost her 1st service game.
SM 0-1.
TM serving. :-(
SM breaks TM 1-1 now.
Another break now.
OMG SM 1-2 now with TM serving.
Desparate for sania now.
Usual story goes here in pattaya.Malek leading 3-1
Bappa SM 2-3 .
No way.SM 2-4 now.

Sania lost in 3 sets ... She saved a match point in 8th game before breaking Malek but lost her serve in 9th game.

At $220K PTT Pattaya Open, Thailand

[R1] (6) Sania Mirza (IND,59) l Tatjana Malek (GER,79) 63 46 36

In third set she only managed to hold her serve once and got broken 4 times ... Frankly her service stat was decent ... First serve % was 64, Malek had 55% ... But what was shocking 1st serve points won, Sania managed to win only 33% (6/18) :kookoo: , Malek 65% (11/17).

 I'm not going to pick sania anymore in FITD as i ve already picked sania to be the winner of the entire tourney(also in the auckland where she lost to molik in 3 sets). Atleast from now onwards i will be looking for consistency and the talent of the opponents rather than going for my all time fav.

She could not make it 5-2, before that she was up 40-0 on malek serve in the 2nd game but could not convert. those were the 2 turning points. a story of missed opportunities. u have to take your chances. u have to kill your opponent. destroy your opponent. if u keep your opponent in the match then she can come back in the match any time. your job is to finish the job as soon as possible. bcoz u can lose from 6-0,5-0 up . Tennis is a different sport where every game is separated from the others. the point is which player is playing better at a particular moment & that's the moment of truth. She can sweep everything from that position & it does not even matter how much ground u have already made. It didnt matter how close he had gone to capture Moscow but the turning point was the defeat in Stalingrad & retreat started from there & then defeat aftert defeat & it ended in Hitler's bunker in Berlin. It's not the point how powerfully u can hit the ball but the point is to win the point. Win a point at a time , win a game at a time, live the moment & rule the moment.

Not that it makes any difference, but she didn't receive a wildcard for entry. I believe she was one of the last direct entries into Dubai.

Sania Mirza has injured her wrist once again while playing today and is bound to pull out of the Malaysian open slated for next week.

She is going to be out of tennis for sometime now.............any way it doesn't make any big difference, because of the way she has been playing for the last one year - "Even Geoffrey Boycott's mom will break her serve"
