Sania lost 46 62 36. :-( Not an ideal preparation for AO. Lets see how she does there.

Yeah, not a good preparation for AO ... Until 2 sets both were matching closely with stats ... But in third set Alicia broke her service thrice and losing her service once ... In this match Sania committed 9 double faults ... She faced 7 break point chances and managed to save 2 and had 8 break point chances but converted only 4.

World's No.1 player in DOUBLE FAULTS has started with a 5 "Fifer" in this match.....goodness me, can somebody teach her how to serve.....Down 3-4 in the 1st set

MC
Looked up what fifer means, on Wikipedia:
A fifer is a non-combatant military occupation of a foot soldier who originally played the fife during combat. The practice was instituted during the period of Early Modern warfare to sound signals during changes in formation, such as the line, and were also members of the regiment's military band during marches.

These soldiers, often boys too young to fight or sons of NCO's, were used to help infantry battalions to keep marching pace from the right of the formation in coordination with the drummers positioned at the centre, and relayed orders in the form of sequences of musical signals. The fife was particularly useful because of its high pitched sound, which could be heard over the sounds of battle.

Kujo,

You are wrong............."Fifer" is an Australian slang for numeric of 5....the reason is Michael Pfeiffer, the 3 time Oscar nominee whose ex-husband was an Australian had a huge fan base down under.

She is considered one of the prettiest women of Hollywood.....Pfeiffer appeared on the cover of People's first "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" issue in 1990, and again in 1999, having made the list a record six times during the decade......so literally the slant meant "You beauty" - "Fifer"....In Sania's case it is horror - "You Horror".

Another example: Aussies say this when their bowlers pick 5 wickets in an innings......
