Wildcard #137 Lisicki having couple of good wins this season over #13 Dinara Safina in Australian Open and #33 Lindsay Davenport in Federation Cup.
But match against Anna Chakvetadze will give us more detail picture of Sania's recent progress.

Did Sania withdraw from Miami ? I am unable to find her name in the player's list or in the draw.

Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments 2008
Mariya Koryttseva has taken Sania's place in the draw as a lucky loser. And Mattek is playing with Mashona Washington in the doubles. Sania must have withdrawn. The wrist....
Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments 2008
How unfortunate that the only Indian player, male or female, who is really doing great things at the international level both in doubles and singles should be plagued by recurrent injury problems. Get well soon sania and stay well. We fans have only your exploits to look forward to as all the men and the other women are woefully below even the futures level internationally.
Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments 2008
s_k_s ....i mentioned that nobody else is doing great apart from sania both in doubles and singles. Mahesh was never any great shakes in singles nor leander at the top atp level. the last grand slam doubles final mahesh reached was in the mixed doubles at australian open and that too was with sania!

any progress beyond 3rd rounds.
Your Princess (see LHS pic) is at the dentist's!
----------
A wrist injury is a tough one.
Surgery is a good option. It's not really that risky.
Agassi, Connors, Rafter & SS all came back to play better after it.
(Truth be told, me, SS, didn't play any lousier!! )
So, consider the surgery, Sania. And ignore these sarcasms!!
G'luck always,
Sumanth
p.s.
Hat's off to Sania for soldiering thru and doing as well as she did (note that, nballa!).
I know how much a wrist injury hurts. (More than all our combined pain at nballa-the-pain!! Yes, that much!).
I saw the Huntuchova match. Sania did pretty so-so / pretty good!
She lost the 1st set hands down, and the 2nd, 'wrist down'!
Starting off, she committed the cardinal sin of actually facilitating a front-runner to run in front. She gave up both her 40-0 service game leads with no brilliant play from the always tense-to-start Huntuchova, and was down 0-5 and 1-6.
Sania fought very well in the second set in spite of her wrist bothering her, coming back from a break to 6 games all. Again, she let off the tightening Huntuchova with 3 errors in the first 3 points of the tiebreak, let Huntuchova relax again and run(hunt!) away (from the front) with the tiebreak too!
Huntuchova has a good game when in front and relaxed. She played a good game, since she was in front and relaxed.
