Sania has been lucky this week..Despite a first round exit in both singles and doubles in strasbourg,she has jumped 2 spots in singles to 72 and 1 spot in doubles to 25..
and more importantly her opponent Barrois has fallen from 59 to 73-exactly one spot below Sania..i'm getting a bit superstitious here and feel this will be the case when the match takes place and Sania will win it somehow

Clay seemed to have worked its magic on her after all.

How come the date is 5th June??? I am really surprised at her singles ranking. Didn't expect such a leap! But there is no Indian women in the top 600 now. Both Rushmi and Poojashree are outside 600 now.

The rankings are released in the US on Sunday night...So its dated 5'th June.
And about the rankings , A leap to 62 was expected with the 100 pts she earned in the French but a few people above her lost in RD 1 who did well last time aound so Sania is the beneficiary

Shouldn't this come under 'tournaments'? Bdw I hope Baltacha loses. That way Sania's ranking will be safe next week!

Sania is ranked 63 in the latest rankings(she has to defend a few points if i'm no wrong as she played in itf tourney in uk last year)..Serena is ranked 175.. ,,good news is that Sania has jumped 3 spots to a new career high ranking of 11 in doubles(highest ranked asian in doubles now) good job!!! Ves is ranked number 10..
and Sania and Vesnina are number 2 in the race..
Would really love them both to play in the year end championships in Istanbul this year

Its confirmed that she will not play baku via her twitter
She will prepare for Washington DC
thats a right decision.. lets hope she recovers and continues her great form on hard courts which she showed in miami

But i wanted her to play in baku..she could havereally gone deep..but 4 hard court season..
by the way wat abt vesnina's schedule???sh'll play at baku,where Sania won't play n then the next week Sania will play in Washington,where vesnina won't..
Vesnina has not even enered San Diego..so will they play only at toronto together now???

Sania has fallen to no.81 this week..
But she has entered the top-10 in doubles..She is at no.10 that's a great great achievement..
But Sania and Vesnina have fallen already to no.4 in the race..anyway i dont think Sania will play till new year..
Its just very sad that they did extremely well this year and were no.2 for so long and will miss the YEC..
any idea on whether they both will continue their partnership in 2012???

Sania out of 100! Currently ranked 104. She had points to defend from her last year's ITF Dubai title.

Jan will be crucial..she has nothing to defend..she has to make most of it..

CONGRATS TO SANIA MIRZA FOR HER NEW CAREER HIGH DOUBLES RANKING OF 7!!! She and Elena are No 4 in the Race to the Championships. In singles, she is 111.

P.S. Surprisingly the rankings are yet to be updated on the ATP and ITF sites.
