Discussion on Sania's WTA Ranking
Sania needs to focus on getting back to full fitness in the next few weeks. But I think it would be a good idea to play competitively a bit in late-November and defend at least some of the points she picked up last year in Lagos, Poitiers, etc.

I don't think that she'll play any more tournaments in the year. She said this in an interview after her injury.

Discussion on Sania's WTA Ranking
Shaili,
wud have loved to say "I tol u say" ...but cudnt manage to get a post in before the rankings for this week were out....Anyway Sania is likely to drop further next week for she loses another 29 points at the end of this week....
at present the last tier 1 event of this year is goin on in zurich where the likes of Asagoe and chakvetadze are playing...some other players whose ranking is somewhere near Sania's may also have made it to the main draw thru qualifying......
Vera Zovnareva retired wid a shoulder injury..if she cant compete in further action this year then her ranking is likely to plummet below Sania's...Lets jus c how the draw proceeds this week at zurich ..mayb Sania may not go down too much..lets keep our fingers crossed.

thanks sridhar!
actually i dont think we need to be that concerned with the rankings for now. it will literally be a new year when sania plays again and we start calculating points. a fresh start.
of course the drop off points will matter, but you are there to decipher all that!

Sania Mirza eyeing top 15 spot
She did achieve her aim this year (top 50) and that too with quite a lot of time to spare. Hope she gets into top 15 soon

I think this is the first time that she spoke of getting into top-15. I am sure she can do it. If you go by her previous statements about this topic, one got to believe in her. I do.
Go Sania! Make us proud!!

Discussion on Sania's WTA Ranking
Well,
as prasen had said Sania has gone down a couple of places in the latest WTA ranking list......of course that is the only thing that can be expected when she aint playing at al!!....I stil wud be interested to c if she can be somewhere in the top 35 by the time the year ends...for starters she doesnt lose another point till the first week of december whereas the likes of anabel nd sugiyama lose a 101 nd 74 points in the very next week...Ofcourse its all incosequential right now but may assume some significance by the time we reach Jan and the AO seedings are announced...Sania may at the most play a cupl of tourneys before the first grand slam of next year

Discussion on Sania's WTA Ranking
There is a chance Sania may improve her ranking next week.
Shaui Peng who is 33 is going to lose 50points next week. She's not playing in any of the current two tournaments.
Vera Zvonareva is going to lose 240 points this week from the total of 1064. She is playing a tournament this week. Assuming she makes a quick exit, she will go below Sania.
Any Thought ?
