Nice to see him finally regain some form on the PGA tour. Let's hope he gets a bit more consistent in the weeks ahead.

A dream final day in a pga tour event with a blemish-less 5-under and just one shot off the leaders vying for the win...

But NO, Anirban had to succumb to the pressure and come down to a mere T6 finish... :damn:
Neverthless, without knowing the sequence of events, I would a take the 2-under for the day and the T6 finish, as I mentioned yesterday... :D Better than nothing...

So, to summarize... He had an awesome first round... very bad second round, not-so-bad last two rounds....
Hopefully he'll make it one awesome round and three not-so-bad rounds to be in contention... :goodluck:

Anirban finished his first round at the Memorial with a 70 (-2) score which currently places him at T-37 with around half the players still on the course. He is 6 behind the leader but tied with World #2 Jordan Spieth.

He is back to putting badly looking at the stats. He lost a stroke and a half on the field on his putting.

Spieth who he is tied with gained 2.7 strokes on putting.

Anirban finished R2 at par and just about made the cut applied at -2. He is T62 at the moment.

Anirban almost holed out the 16th (toughest hole on the course) and then missed his birdie attempt from 5 feet.

After a typical first (3 birdies, 1 bogey, 1 double bogey); he was looking to go 5 under in 6 holes.

Edit: And another birdie putt from 12 feet missed on the 17th.

And Anirban withdraws from this week event....
Presume he is resting and preparing for next week's Major.
The season is almost over and he needs few good finishes to secure his card for 2016.
After the US Open next week, there are 8-9 events left, with Olympics in between too...
:goodluck: Anirban for next few events...

We have Arjun Atwal playing this week after topping the Sunday qualifier....hope he puts up a show in his rare appearance in a PGA event. :goodluck:

I think Anirban's pga card is pretty secure! He currently is 89th in the FedEx Cup standings with 454 points. The 125th finisher in 2015 has 464 points (and in 2014 had 438 points), so he only needs a couple more cuts (and say T-50 finishes) to secure his card for next year. However, ideally he should be aiming to be in the top 60 of the FedEx standings to play in the season ending tournaments as well as getting his world ranking back into the top-40 to gain entries to the biggest events...

$6.2M FedEx St. Jude Classic

Atwal had a decent start with a missed birdie on #3 and a birdie on #4 with an amazing 37-footer.
But it was all downhill after that on the front 9 with two bogies...

On the back-9, he started great again with a birdie
Same story repeated with two bogeys...

And he ended up 2-over for the day with T100 and in the danger of missing the cut...... :goodluck:

$6.2M FedEx St. Jude Classic

Arjun Atwal makes the cut at St. Jude Classic. He shot an 2 under par second round with five birdies and three bogeys, to make the cut.
Overall, he is Even par and currently tied for 47th position.

Nothing to write home about, but at least Arjun played a PGA tournament after a longish time, and made the cut.

Well, unless of course you talk about his first 5 holes on the last day.... :D

He had a spectacular time with 4 birdies and jumped up to T16, but it all came crashing down in the end with two double bogeys and two bogeys to finish the day.....
