This is the tournament that Shubhankar Sharma had done very well in 2018 as the altitude makes the course play much shorter than the listed length. However, it is now clear that his game has regressed since last year but hopefully this is the one step back before he takes 2 steps forward.

I think he got too much fame and adulation too quickly. He was on every golf show, think his teenage sister was getting invited to commentate/write articles etc.

American media was desperate for an Indian golfing superstart and thought Shubhankar was it, while his game was clearly underprepared as we talked about last year as well.

Sad that neither Shubhankar nor Anirban Lahiri is playing in the Masters this year. Tiger Woods seems poised for a comeback win, finishing the first and second day just one shot behind the leaders.

That was surely one of the greatest comebacks — and perhaps one of the greatest stories — in the history of sport. Tiger winning his 15th major 11 years after his 14th one...

Tiger Woods ... :notworthy:
Yes, simply unbelieving but heartening.

Yes, Tiger will likely be the unquestioned GOAT if he can stay fit for the next couple of years or so as he has been playing at a very high level for the last year.

He is now #2 in major wins with 15 behind Jack Nicklaus' 18 and #2 in PGA tour wins with 81 behind Sam Snead with 82 (with Jack Nicklaus as the #3 at 73). He could well end up with 17-18 majors and somewhere between 85-90 PGA tour titles before he is done as long as injury does hamper him in the next few years...

Anirban Lahiri qualifies for the US Open next week. :notworthy:
He qualified in style by finishing 2nd in the Sectional qualifying held in Ohio.
Subhankar missed out by couple of shots.
:goodluck: Anirban for the 3rd Major of the year.

Anirban Lahiri, who was playing his first Major of the year, struggled to get going from the very start of the event and eventually ended up missing the cut after just two days. After a 74 in Round 1, Anirban went on to add a six-over par in the second Round to end his stint at the 119th US Open.

Being in a good threesome paid off for Shubhankar on day 1 as he finishes T20 at -1

Playing partners world #1 Koepka finished the day at -3 and former champion Oosthuizen at -1 as well.

Shubhankar had a disastrous third round, and sank to the bottom of the leaderboard for awhile today, before a birdie on the final hole ensured that he finished +6 for the day (joint worst for the day) and ended at +6, one above the bottom at 72nd on the leaderboard.

Good final round of 3-under par from Shubhankar takes him to 3-over par for the tournament — and up to T52 for now, with many still to complete their rounds.
