Anirban is 7 over in the second round already and will almost certainly miss the cut. Both our guys have been unlucky with the conditions with the early starters on Thursday enjoying the best of conditions.

Both Anirban and Jeev missed the cut, finishing T123 and T145 respectively. Forgettable performances marred by terrible weather.

Anirban Lahiri began his British Open campaign with a solid two-under-par 69. However, there were lots of missed opportunities on the opening day at Royal Troon. He is currently tied for 22nd position.

:goodluck: for Round 2.

Very nice start. I wish he had played one week somewhere in the British Isles to prepare though.

Anirban is T21, with a 1-over round today (to be 1-under par at the halfway mark). A few more players still playing (eg McIlroy is tied with Anirban, but has 3 more holes to play). Great to see Anirban in the mix at yet another major. He is making this a habit.

Anirban's best round is the 1st round, going downhill after that his worst round usually happens to be the last round. So his worst is yet to come in the British Open. Since his best round is the 1st round he often makes the cut. Our Boogeyman is truly blessed, lucky guy.

T42 now after 15 holes today; he is 4-over for the day, 3-over par for the tournament so far. :(

Anirban is T43 after the third round. His scores 69-72-76 are exactly the same as Rickie Fowler's.

In the overall scheme of things, making the cut at The (British) Open is a rarity for an Indian golfer; albeit disappointing (especially the third round), Anirban is doing better in a major world sport (arguably the most lucrative and successful world sport) than any other Indian.

2 garbage rounds in a row. His inconsistency this season strikes again.

Anirban Lahiri failed to make the cut with a three-over 73 in the second round and was four shots below the cut on the second day of the 98th PGA Championship.

Lahiri had one birdie and four bogeys.

Shiv Kapur has qualified for his third British Open after winning one of the five final qualifying events held yesterday.

Shiv Kapur is currently the lone Indian at this year's Open Championship. He earned his berth after shooting scores of 71 and 65, which gave him first place at eight-under-136 and was among the three players with the best scores who qualified from The Marquess' Course at Woburn.

Congratulations Shiv Kapur!!
He has played well in the last few weeks after winning in Asian Tour and hope he does well in one if the big events in Europe to get back his card for 2018.

Quote from OPEN website
"India’s Shiv Kapur took the top spot with scores of 71 and 65 for an eight-under-par 136 total. He made a special 4,167-mile round trip from his home in Delhi just to play. He only arrived in Woburn on Sunday evening and was flying straight home."

I expect Anirban to play in The Open with his current world ranking too.
Anirban is playing the Scottish Open next week, the week before The Open.
